Lexington / Central Kentucky Top 10 Power Rankings 7-27-15

Lafayette didn't impress me at all the last couple of years.

The only thing the Generals have going for them against Trinity is T comes off two tough games and they play Male the next week.

I wish Lafayette well but they have to get it done on the field first.

Was Bryan Station just decimated by graduation?

That's a long way to fall for a team who beat LexCath by 23, beat Lafayette, and only lost by 7 to Henry Clay and 5 to Scott County.

I would not look at as falling off too far. The 'next 3' were Bryan Station, Bourbon County and Garrard County. Bryan Station did lose some key seniors. But they can easily move onto, and up, the list.

The same with Bourbon. The biggest problem with Bourbon is they do not play a lot of the local region power teams. I wish they had a couple of games against some of the schools on this list.

Garrard had a great season last year as well.

I certainly feel these 13 teams make up the top in the region and Station, Bourbon and Garrard could easily in on the list and even well up in it.

What is Tates Creek looking like this year? Ashland has them scheduled this year. Would like to know a little about them.

A little shocked at Bryan Station being left out of the top 10. No knock on teams at the bottom of the list but it's hard to believe that they'd beat Bryan Station. I understand graduating guys but every team in the state lost key guys to graduation.

On a side note that Central Hardin vs Boyle County game is a great measuring stick game for both teams. Great way to leap in the second week polls for the winner

I will eat a big plate of crow if I'm wrong, but Central Hardin will beat Boyle County easily.

Bryan Station could literally beat Paris by any score that they wanted. I'm more shocked that Paris was included over Bourbon Co. though and several other tough teams. I know rankings are a thankless job.

Did I miss something about who won 6A last year?

You don't remember the heart-breaker where Meade County shut out Trinity 48-0 in semi-finals? Or how they rolled Dixie Heights 47-14 in the Finals?

So you rate the fact that Paris plays Frankfort as the sole reason they are at #10 ? Because that's the only local region "power team"? Even though regional schools like Madison Central, Mad South, GRC, would beat Paris by Multiple TD's?

Shocked Scott County is ranked 3rd? Lafayette has some nice players on offense but their defense wasn't very good at all last year to be ranked #1 .

Boyle County is going to come out of week 1 with a losing record. They got a little taste of Central Hardin in the 7on7 tournament in Campbellville 2 weeks ago, losing to Central Hardin, they will get another dose come week 1. Central just won another 7on7 Tournamnet this past weekend at Central Hardin, 10 Teams competed and Central beat North Hardin in the Championship. Big Strong, Physical, Defense oriented, run the wing T, and have a fullback in Xavier Arnette 6'1" 210 who is a load to bring down.

I hate to burst your bubble but the Rebels before Camp and After Camp are two different animals.

Even my wife busted my chops on Paris. I gave the little independent school too much credit for their records the last 2 years.

Insert Bourbon or Bryan Station - readers choice.

We will get a good read on Bryan Station with their schedule. They have Knox Central and Simon Kenton early on and Scott Co., Lafayette and Henry Clay at the back end of the schedule.

As I said before I wish Bourbon had a better schedule to get some better comparison at the season goes forward. They have Madison Central and Madison Southern early. Pulaski County is late in season. With Boyle County and LexCath going to 3A, Bourbon, Boyle Co, LexCath and Garrard County should sort this group out in the end.

HAHA That's awesome

Did you come home and she was like "Honey...seriously?!??!?! Paris?!?!?!?"

If so she gets Wife of the Week

It takes our wives to sometimes correct us. Glad she saw it
