July 23, 201511 yr I agree that the Astros could still be interested in Cueto. They were looking for a top of the arm rotation. Kazmir is a solid addition but he isn't going to carry you into the playoffs. Agreed. Cueto would be the #1 they are seeking, Cueto, Keuchel, Kazmir would be a nice playoff rotation and it would give them a righty so they aren't going Lefty, Lefty to begin a series.

July 23, 201511 yr I just saw where Kazmir's trade will net him an extra $800,000 this season. He gets a $500,000 bonus for being traded and will save $300,000 on state taxes. Not a bad deal to move back to where he's from and to get into a pennant race. Plus it will make him more attractive to teams after the season since the team that signs him will now not forfeit a draft pick.

July 24, 201511 yr I think the Reds are not going to do anything. I hope I'm wrong, but I would not be surpriesd if Leake, Cueto, Byrd, Pena, Chapman, and Bruce are all playing against the Irates next Saturday.
