Big whoop they had a good Running Back. They still had their lunch eaten 4 times and didn't even play the two best teams in Jefferson County.

SK will win every game this season and win 6A! And before anyone rips on me this should be every 6A teams goal!

Respect has to be earned. In past years SK build great records on the backs of weak schedules heavily invested in playing teams several classes below themselves. Then when they would get into the playoffs they would get handled by good teams and destroyed by great teams. Not the way respect is earned. The past two years SK has upgraded their out of district schedule and has stepped it up even more this coming year. If they want respect, earn it on the field. The opportunity is there.

And it astounds me that a single member has that much power.

Exactly what do you propose to do to a person who is just a fan and has no tie to the program or the school? At least UK is not a member of the athletic program!

With all do respect, if you are to use the criteria of beating, or playing close, with Trinity and St. Xavier there wouldn't be many teams in the state to receive respect.

 

There are programs I respect who haven't come close to beating Trinity when I've seen them play. PRP, Lafayette and Henry Clay are 3 off the top of my head, there are others. They don't just talk the talk, they chose to step up and walk the walk.

 

There are programs that have been competitive with Trinity that I have no respect for. Scott County tops that list.

 

Other people may respect them, I don't.

Dixie did the same as SK in 4 years in 6a. SK has been in 6a for 8 years.

That is my point. Dixie accomplished just last year what SK accomplished back in 2008 and no where near that since.

It's ok to promote a program, but to knock every other progam in the process is over the top. Win something first, then talk, but until then one person is pouring gas on a fire and burning everyone else.

Not sure who you are referring to but I respect what SK has done. Trust me I know where the program was in the lean years! His act gets old! Do we have a poster or two that boasts, absolutely. The difference is we back it up.

Why isolate respect for just sk? I respect sk, as well as all the programs in NKY. Sports are great anyway you cut it. Schools with established feeder programs will increase their consistent success for obvious reasons. A funnel of talent to develop.

 

Highlands, cch, sk, and ryle will always be in the top of the mix. I root for the underdogs. It's more fun to do so and once in a blue moon they win. As for the actions of a fan base inflcing my opinion of their teams. I've learned to be a duck and let the nonsense fade away if they are too over the top. Can be very amusing at times! All teams have good, bad, and ugly fan bases. Some more over the top than others.

 

When we place our focus on the student-athletes and their growth and success it's difficult to be offended by their fans. Yep, I'll be kissing babies at the next holiday parade!
