UC cops kills man.

Why? Why let there be a chance the Grand Jury is influenced by public reaction?

Checks and balances.

The video will be released. Why does it need to be before the Grand Jury sees it?

Because the grand jury is like cement.

We agree on all counts here and that is exactly why we need to see the video before anything is set in stone.

Agreed, I'm very interested in the video.

I just can't think of a way that if I'm on the ground being dragged by a vehicle that I'd be able to fire a gun and hit a person in the vehicle. Just doesn't seem possible based on angles and physics. Maybe he was able to get back on his feet before he took off? :idunno:

Great link on the report Clyde, from that report:

Officer Kidd was on scene with OIT Lindenschmidt. Officer Kidd told me that he witnessed the Honda Accord drag Officer Tensing, and that he witnessed Officer Tensing fire a single shot. It is unclear how much of this incident OIT Lindenschmidt witnessed.

AND

Officer Tensing stated that the incident was caught on his University issued body camera.

Audio of the call from dispatch.Go to about 2:40.

Report: UC officer 'had to fire his weapon'

Why in this day and age do police calls to dispatch still sound like crackling unintelligible crap? You'd think that with technology it would sound clearer. I don't know how they can even understand each other.

If you listen to it long enough you can understand it pretty well most of the time. Kinda like how a parent can understand what a toddler is saying and no one else can.

Newer digital radios and repeaters help quite a bit but all departments haven't upgraded to those yet. To save money most departments simply take radios and other equipment out of older cars and put it into the new cars when they get them.

Whose decision was this? Cincy PD covering their butts or campus police trying to limit their liabilities ?

Never mind. It was UC pres.

My gut feeling is there are some inconsistency's of what happened and what is on film. Is Deters trying to formulate a rebuttal for all possible questions? The police always use the tactic that if you don't have anything to hide, you don't need a lawyer, "just answer the question". By not releasing the video it gives doubt and it promotes a "cooling off" period. In the past, CPD released info immediately especially when they were in the right, most recently in the death of Officer Kim.

I'll wait until the video and other evidence is out to decide if something was being hidden or not.

This isn't CPD.
