November 8, 20169 yr I was curious as if there was anything on this case here. Been watching from day one. My only question is why do they quit so early in the day most of these days? Wouldnt this trial be over by now if they had worked until 4:30 or 5 everyday?
November 8, 20169 yr A little bit of a lull right now. Defense is taking jury through video of other calls Offc Tensing had been on. The thinking is that they want to show that Offc Tensing, despite wearing that t-shirt, doesn't "have it in" for people of color.
November 8, 20169 yr Still watching calls. Much of it is seeing the body cam showing him sitting in his car. Not sure how effective this is. Starting to get too long and repetitive.
November 8, 20169 yr I thought Tensing's testimony had been very good to the point where he started getting emotional, which in all sincerity seems a bit "put on".
November 8, 20169 yr Deters bring up that Offc Tensing had the most stops of UC officers and had the highest racial disparity for stops. Offc Tensing says you cannot see who is driving the car. Deters says 83.5% of stops are blacks.
November 8, 20169 yr Deters last comment is in regards to the confederate shirt: I would think you would know the significance of that shirt to the African American community. Offc Tensing testimony has been completed.
November 8, 20169 yr Defense rests. Jury will hear closing charge tomorrow morning. Jury instructed to bring a bag of clothes in case the deliberations go long.
November 8, 20169 yr Deters made one last impression on the jury regarding when the car accelerated. He had Tensing watch the video and tell him when the car accelerated. Deters said it was clear that it didn't accelerate until after the shot. Tensing disagreed.
November 8, 20169 yr If I had to guess I guess at least one juror holds out on a guilty vote due to the "split second" decision required by the officer.
November 8, 20169 yr Deters last comment is in regards to the confederate shirt: I would think you would know the significance of that shirt to the African American community. Offc Tensing testimony has been completed. So we are convicting a guy because of the shirt he wore, makes sense.
November 8, 20169 yr So we are convicting a guy because of the shirt he wore, makes sense. Yep. You got it. That's why.
November 8, 20169 yr So we are convicting a guy because of the shirt he wore, makes sense. Supposing his shirt had a big swastika on it, or the shield of the aryan nation...still wouldn't make any sense?
November 8, 20169 yr So we are convicting a guy because of the shirt he wore, makes sense. Sure had that been the only evidence presented by the prosecution. Is it any different than the defense attorney asking Offc Tensing "Are you a racist?"
