Not sure of the highschool, but John Shannon went to UK and played two seasons with the Chicago Bears. I think he went to Boone Co.

No, unfortunately he was a phone call away from the Major Leagues and got totally ripped off when the GM of the Mets made a political move and didnt call him up but some other chump. He was jacking the ball in Triple AAA from what I remember and this is a story I have heard from folks very close to fRank. He was probably the best athlete I have ever watched play High School sports though.....unbelievable and still in great shape.

Same here....but unfortunatley I havent' seen Fitworks in a while....:irked: I guess that is what being married, 3 kids, one on the way will do to you... Frank could probably play Semi Pro ball now and dominate.....

George Stone of Grant had a fairly long career in ABA. Mike Murphy did not make the Rams. John Turner played for the Chicago Bulls.

Probably doesn't qualify but since others are mentioned, there was an little known athlete at Lloyd High School who went to Hanover, IN for basketball and ended up being a football superstar at that level of play. He was worked out by Paul Brown himself (set up by Jim Red Dog Daughtery) and was signed as a free agent. He made it to the final cut. He was a wideout and the person selected in front of him was Steve Kreider. His name is Jim Wilson. This was in 1979/80 time frame. Saw him play in college and even at that level, very fast and great hands. He just wasn't tall enough to make the reg season roster. (only 6')

Hasn't played yet, so I don't think he would count unless he makes the squad.

 

I believe Rob did get into a game at the end of the of the season this year for the Browns. I didn't watch the game but had heard that he was going to start on the line.:confused:
