August 16, 201511 yr This site is NKY centric. We should all be proud of the fact that the two guys competing for the QB spot at the state school are from NKY. We should all be rooting for them both to succeed and take pride. End of the day, I hope UK has a great season and gets to a bowl.

August 16, 201511 yr Author Not coach talk. Saw it with my own eyes today. You might have saw a great practice I don't doubt that one bit. But all over the country every program is going to hype guys. Happens from the NFL all the way down to pewee ball, it's officially mid August.
August 16, 201511 yr Now this is talk...when I here or read stuff like this it is blah, blah, blah. What has he improved on, have the longtime fan give some details! Was the longtime fan there for Drew's first college 7-7, when he checked out of the very first play the coach called because it was not a good concept vs that defense? Competition was on from jumpstreet, Coach Brown could not believe Drew was that far along in understanding defenses and how best to beat them! Initially, it wasn't supposed to be a competition but Drew was much much more ready to play than Coach Stoops and Coach Brown thought. They could see the physical but the understanding of the offense and understanding defenses was more than they could have hoped for from a freshman Qb. Were you on the sidelines to hear the coaches say this? Not questioning if it happened just wondering where you heard this.

The coaches are suppose to put the players that give them the best chance to win. Well last year they were a below .500 team who didn't make a bowl game and had inconsistent play from everyone as the year went on. Seems to me every position would be up for grabs because no one wowed last year, especially after the first few games.
