Towles has lost his confidence, and I think some of his teammates have also lost confidence in him, so I believe it's time to give Barker a shot. I wouldn't write Towles off though.

I wouldn't write Towles off though. Talking to my dad yesterday he said a lot of the same. Said it just looks like the WRs are over Towles as the QB.

PT was absolutely the correct pick in Sept but I'm not sure he's done enough to keep his job and Barker has now had a few months of practice and he didn't look scared in his limited action. I don't believe Stoops trust PT anymore but he's also trying to mitigate risk.

I don't believe Stoops trust PT anymore but he's also trying to mitigate risk. I agree 100% on PT being the starter to start the year. He had the confidence from a year under his belt. That confidence is gone now, unfortunately. Now Barker probably has more confidence because he can watch Towles play on the field and say he can do better than that.

Why does anyone think that Barker is going to do any better with those teams? I'm not even a huge Towles fan but he has been actually playing better than the beginning of the season IMO. UK's problem is the O and D lines which have been getting dominated in SEC play, not QB.

UK's problem is the O and D lines which have been getting dominated in SEC play, not QB. What I am curious to see is how the offense would change with DB as the QB. Would we we see more read option? Would more short/intermediate passes be completed? Remember what Dawson said when asked during the summer how the QBs stacked up - he said DB was the better passer on the intermediate routes. Unfortunately, PTs best game is the deep pass or the long out and those take time that he's not always getting. I still think PT starts this week but unfortunately for him he will have a very, very short leash - his fault or not.

November 9, 201510 yr I attended the game on Saturday in Athens. Our QB was not rushed on either throw that was intercepted. Ball has to get out quick and on the $$ in this offense, really quick. The reluctance of this coaching staff to make changes is the most perplexing issue at hand for many that I talked to on Saturday in GA. Also heard from some insiders that the players on the UK Team are not happy with Towles and want a change immediately. Question for all here. If the players are in practice everyday and see a guy who should be playing (in their opinion) over another, does it rip a team apart?
