From the Walking Dead we learned that everyone carries the virus so you don't have to be bitten to turn; just die.
August 24, 201511 yr I think the girl in the beginning OD'ed then changed. That was the only connection to the being a heroin addict. I thought it was a good start. Correct. We still don't know the actual cause for the virus.

If the show was truly related to walking dead than Rick and the crew and the guy at the Atlanta CDC would already know. I'd be disappointed if they tell us why, yet the folks who have survived for years still don't know.
August 24, 201511 yr Not impressed. Took 45 minutes to get into anything. Overall boring until the last 20 minutes or so. I think it's a cash grab and if it doesn't improve I'll be finding something else to put me to sleep. Point of contention between myself and Mrs. BB, I had higher expectations and was overall disappointed.
August 25, 201511 yr Author I thought it was okay, but there seems to be some good characters here. TWD's pilot was BY FAR better, but it's tough to live up to something that great. I did read where FTWD broke the record for all-time largest cable ratings premiere. 10.1 million viewers, which is ridiculous.

August 25, 201511 yr Not really fair to compare FTWD with TWD IMO. I thought the show was really good and expect it to get better. They had to build a story line, I think they did a pretty solid job.
