2015 Home Run Derby

Featured Replies

Just got back from the stadium... One of the greatest experiences I've had as a Reds fan. It was bananas every time he advanced. And once he hit the clincher the place lost its mind.

This might be a top 3 event I've ever been to.

Need to keep this format. Every round was entertaining. Maybe lower it to 3 minutes to avoid the players getting tired but still an amazing event.

That was awesome! It would have been one of the best homerun derby I ever seen even if Frazier wasn't in it. However him being in it and winning it just made it that muchh more better!

Maybe a guy like him winning something like this can bring enough positive vibes to this city to break the cincy curse for all sports in the cincy area.

Loved the format. I do think 3 minutes with time changes for distance based on each HR would be fun. Something like plus :15 for every shot over 425 and :20 for 450. Hit one 500 feet and get an extra minute. This new format was quick and kept things interesting so ultimately a win with no changes...

What about if they do bonus after other man hits?

Best pun of the night - "Our Todd is an awesome Todd"!

I loved the last minute changes. 5 minutes would have been overkill and the :30a max for length was perfect.

You'd have to keep the order the same in the bonus round, but I like it...

That way if they tie, both or one only gets 30 seconds. Lots of pressure on pitcher and hitter.

I also liked him being called the Todd Father. Very fitting with his New Jersey ties and love for Frank Sinatra.

Other than Hamilton round that one year nothing even close. I can't wait for people that were there to tell us how it us inside GABP.

Electric. it was awesome

That was the most exciting and entertaining sporting event I can ever remember attending. The atmosphere was unreal every time Frazier swung. I've never seen GABP as rocking as it was when he hit the clincher. Just fantastic.

The new format has saved the HR Derby. Even without Frazier in it that would've been so entertaining because of the format. The perfect amount of time and kept everyone on the edge of their seats the entire night.

I don't like the rule that they have to wait until the previous ball lands to throw the next.

I'd imagine that it was a safety concern. Fans all trying to catch a ball when another is flying at them.

How were beer sales last night for ya? Talked to another buddy who vends and he said people were buying them like crazy.

Best sporting event I've ever attended and I was working. So much fun. Such a buzz in the ballpark. Beers were flying out of my bin like balls out of the park.

For the record, it was the best event I've ever work, including Opening Days and the Jason Aldean concert (which I wouldn't have guessed).

Only thing I could imagine topping it would be a World Series game.

Last night couldn't have been more perfect.
