Obviously I'm speaking as someone with no ties to the old logo, but I like this one. Curious to see how it will look on the helmet. Has a similar vibe to the new St. X one.

It's all this overbearing PC junk, getting away from anything that is in reference to the old south(even though there were colonels in the old north). Look for a mascot change in the future as well. I will miss the iconic Colonel Comet Head, but I'm old school and we are regularly put out to pasture.

 

Nahh...that's got little-to-nothing to do with it. Cov Cath has had a re-branding effort as a whole for their emblems, logos, etc for well over a year now, and it's all based around trademarking. I believe (until now) that the only trademarked logos Cov Cath owned were their school seal and the helmet logo. Now they added this, and are planning to use it on everything. I'm not very fond of it...in the least.

With that in mind I honestly think it's pretty good. It's got a classic look and even though it's simple it's also unique. It's something they can keep around for a very long time and will be fitting in just about any context. So, as a branding/marketing thing for the school I see where they're going.

 

Again, I'm an outsider here and have no nostalgia for the other old one, but I don't find it very appealing either.

I guess CCH will no longer use red in their unis as well?

I can see it now. CCH against HHS, both with white helmets and blue block letter logos on the helmets. I guess imitation IS a form of flattery after all.

I'm with TBirds. I love it too. It goes with their new white pants last year. Keep the changes coming. Man, they really want to erase a lot of bad memories. Whatever works I guess.

Seems too generic. But, as Habib stated, it could stick around for a while. Admittedly, I don't have the same nostalgia that some others might have for the helmet, so perhaps that's why I don't feel too strongly either way. Let's just get back to winning some football games.
