July 2, 201511 yr Okay anyone who does not believe gas prices are not on the up and up is crazy. Three stations within 4 miles of each other on my route to and from work...... Here is what has happened for the last 3 or 4 weeks: Gas jumps to 2.89 a gallon. Then every day it falls 2 to 4 cents every day until it gets to 2.61 a gallon.......and then it miraculously jumps back up to 2.89 a gallon. Now this is at all three stations. And all at the same time. If I drive by at 7 AM they are all at 2.77 a gallon. When I drive back by at 5:30 pm they are all at 2.73 a gallon. The next morning they are all at 2.71. This continues until they all reach 2.61 and then the next day they are all 2.89. Like clockwork.
July 3, 201511 yr Yet oil is still below $60. We paid 3.00 a gallon when it hit $100 back around 2008. It's pure gouging right now and the states/govt do nothing about it.

July 3, 201511 yr Went for dinner with a friend in Frankfort last night and gas was $2.79-$2.89. In Bardstown it was $2.59. I think it dropped in Bardstown today but I wasn't paying close attention because I wasn't in need, but I'm almost positive it was $2.56.
July 5, 201511 yr I just drove to Florida and the most expensive gas was in ky at $2.99 in dry ridge. Paid $2.35 in TN and $2.65 in GA and FL. That is crazy
July 5, 201511 yr On vacation recently, I drove 30 miles and gas went from 2.89 down to 2.39 And after that every town varied 20 cents every exit. I don't understand how gas prices are determined. Because I mean, it clearly isn't the price of oil because it consistently is shown to not have a huge impact on the prices unless it's an excuse to raise them a lot.

July 5, 201511 yr I've always noticed that gas stations off of I-275's gas is about 30 cents cheaper per gallon than gas at stations right off I-71/75.
July 6, 201511 yr Based on the price of oil, gas should be closer to $2/gal than $3/gal. Just another example of your government ignoring what's impacting middle America to focus on things that very few care about.

July 6, 201511 yr The oil & gas industry is a business, and as such their purpose is to make money. I find it laughable that people want the government to be involved.
July 6, 201511 yr The oil & gas industry is a business, and as such their purpose is to make money. I find it laughable that people want the government to be involved. Government does have role to ensure collusion and anti-competitive practices are not involved. Given the lockstep and predictable pattern of gas prices in parts of Kentucky it would seem to merit investigation by the AG. Paging Jack Conway....
July 6, 201511 yr Am I in the minority in that I never pay attention to what a gallon of gas costs? I work next door to a gas station and could not tell you the price. I have to get it regardless if it is $.40 or $40 a gallon.
