How do folks this season will play out? I'm thinking 8 wins with this schedule is the ceiling. Am I off on that?

I've got them finishing 5-7.

8 wins would be borderline miraculous IMO.

First game will be a tough one. Don't sleep in them or UK will end up 0-1. This team won 9 games last season.

1-3 games isn't going to tell us much. The SEC schedule is where we will find out how much each QB has improved or not from last year.

You must not have seen the schedule, 2-4 definitely will

Game 2 @ South Carolina

Game 3 Florida

Game 4 Missouri

No I didn't so I assumed they would start off with the lesser games. I stand corrected, that early schedule will tell us quickly who gets it and who doesn't.

I was shocked at it my self when I first saw it.

I do like that they are not going to be playing SEC foes for 8 straight weeks. There's some rest and healing in there in the middle.

I think they will be Bowl Eligible at ease. Somewhere between 6-8 games won

I like your confidence.

5-7 wins maybe 8 if they win the bowl game

Disagree. Respectfully, of course.

First, I think the SEC as a whole will be down this year and the champ will have 2 losses. The fact that someone in the QB thread cited that Towles was ranked the 3rd best QB NFL prospect in the SEC is telling. And that's no disrespect to Towles, I would love to see him get a shot. But we are talking about a guy who is still competing with a redshirt frosh.

Second, I really like where the program is headed with Stoops and the momentum recruiting. They are getting bigger and faster. Even as depleted as they were last year they were in some games and could've easily taken 7. And let's not forget that Mizzou has won the east the last 2 years and they usually sit in the mid to low 30's in recruiting rankings. They somehow compete and I think UK will too.

I think they win 6-7 games and have a shot at 8. Just need some confidence and health but I think it'll be a fun year.

I agree. Well put, Cappy.

And I hope you are right, my friend. :thumb:

But I'm a very cynical UK football fan. The last time the team won 8 regular season games was 1984. So I've taken the "I have to see it before I believe it" approach.

"It was his (your) only defense."

Stoops has invited Maurice Clarett to speak to the team tomorrow.
