June 17, 201511 yr Congrats to the only Warrioris fan I know, Getslow!!!!!!! Fell in love with them after Don Nelson took over in 2006. Don Nelson coaching: points for days... both for his team and the opposing one. :lol2: Hadn't really followed the NBA much prior to then. Knew lots of folks from Cleveland and Chicago in college that were fans so I watched some games. Detroit and San Antonio title teams at that time did not interest me in the slightest. I wanted points... I still do. It's been a fun couple of years to follow them, to be sure.

They already had Curry and Thompson when he took over but the first thing he did as GM was orchestrate the really successful 2012 draft that brought them Harrison Barnes, Festus Ezeli, and Draymond Green. My understanding is that he's also the one responsible for the series of traded draft picks that ultimately resulted in them getting Andre Igoudala. ... but I get where you're coming from. I do feel for Mark Jackson. I always liked him and I was upset when the Warriors fired him. I'd have loved to see if this team could have come to the same result under his watch.
June 17, 201511 yr We for instance let's slot OKC into the 4 seed. Running through the 8 seed Spurs, 4 seed Thunder and then the Rockets and a healthy Cavs. Trust the Warroirs to get through that? As for Delly and TT, they're better in small doses. If Cleveland's healthy they play fewer minutes and their faults don't become as exposed. LeBron becomes efficient with the full roster. Completely different series with Cleveland healthy. Maybe still not enough, but they would have had a chance. Why would the Spurs be the 8 seed if the Thunder were the 4? Wasn't the Spurs the 6th seed this year and played the 3rd seeded Clippers? Which means the Spurs would have been a 7th seed instead and the Mavs the 8th seed. So the Warriors would have had the Mavs in the first round. The Warriors had one of the best regular seasons of all time, so to act like they probably couldn't have got it done in the playoffs if other teams were more healthy just doesn't make sense.

June 17, 201511 yr Poor form when your team loses to complain about injuries and claim the other team was just lucky instead of giving them their due. Warriors would've beaten them all healthy or not. They were clearly the best team in the league this season. Sure, let's pretend GS played four teams at full strength. Cleveland was without two All NBA caliber players. That's a fact. Whether or not it would have made a difference we'll never know but Golden State was the last healthy team left in the playoffs. Had to help at least a little bit. Warriors still had to go out and win the title, but each team they played or could have potentially played was playing with at least one hand behind their back. Warriors are a very good and deserving team. But they lucked out on the injury front and even alluded to it in post game interviews. They still believe they would have won, and maybe they would have. But, they lived a very charmed life this season. No hiding that. Three of the too challengers had some major injuries (Cleveland, OKC, San Antonio). There's nothing poor about stating that.
June 17, 201511 yr I tend to agree. The Cavs "healthy" through the season (with their Big 3) went 53-29. A 14 win differential. 5th best in the league and probably about where they were. In fairness, after their slow 19-20 start, them and the Warriors had the league's best records with some of the Cavs' losses being at the end when things were decided. Look at their Big 3s record with the mid season additions. They were the best team in the league (or close to it) record wise with their full roster.

I agree the Warriors were great this year BUT...I don't remember a year where there were so many key injuries to top players on contenders as there was this year. They did lead a charmed playoff life. They cannot control that though. They beat who they played - all you can do...
June 18, 201511 yr You know everyone talks about Cavs missing Love and Kyrie but I think a real difference maker in this series would have been Anderson Varejao. Now you could argue that they would not have went and got Mosgov unless Varejao got hurt. But I really like his energy and I think he would have been a real asset when Cavs had to go small.
