How likely is it...

This will undoubtedly be Highlands vs West Jessamine in the finals.

Hope you're right with at least one of the teams!

Maybe. But undoubtedly is a strong word. Scott has given up 1 run against two very good teams, and has beaten maybe the two best pitchers in the field, while scoring 12 runs. And they have maybe their best pitcher going tomorrow. They may not win, but I wouldn't want to play them.

I'm a NKY guy who coaches HS baseball in NKY and faced both clubs. Highlands I have no doubt can reach the finals. Scott, I wasn't too sold on, but it seems they've got hot at the right time. I don't know what other teams at the state tourney have, aside from good records. That was the basis for my question.

Love that you are over looking Greenup. Hope the Highland players are doing the same.

Where the heck is Highland. I keep seeing that on here and was wondering where they are from.

I think Highland is up there in N Ky. Close to Connor I think.

Side note: Jeff Trame can coach - baseball AND basketball!

Don't forget volleyball.

Not a chance. The boys are locked and loaded. 50 years between state semi final appearances and someone really thinks the Birds are overlooking Greenup County.

A team that sweeps 3 high quality opponents in the LIT and shuts out 5 opponents in a row is not to be overlooked.

Coach B will have them ready for sure.

Great teacher and a great guy. You won't hear a student or player say one negative word about Trame. The guy just wins at life and his son Andrew has the same characteristics/personality. Easy family to root for.

Not sure why y'all can't get it right. Highlands with a "s". I mean, what does an "athletic" program need to do to get some respect around here! Lol!

Just sayin.

When you look at both games Scott has played, you have to credit the Scott Players for getting deep in the counts and not jumping on the first pitch. They took Knott County Centrals ace to 130+ pitches and Shyrock to 117 last night. Ohmer and Trame were both below 90 pitches having to pitch a 7th inning.

I would love to be able to call an all NKY State Championship. Would be our first State Championship, but sweeter if both teams were from here. Best of luck to both Highlands and Scott tonight.

I know your pain. Scott regularly gets confused with Scott County. The tshirts sold by the tournament host even had Scott county printed on them. Then the announcing team last night referred to Scott as being located in Latonia.

At least they aren't being called Highland Heights H.S. That one irks me every time. :irked:

Highlands. Is that better? lol Sorry.

Although Highlands is in the same Region 9 as Conner, they're actually closer to Scott. Two teams, 15 minutes apart in NKY in the finals would definitely be a boost to NKY baseball. Good luck to both teams tonight!

P.S. Conner is also often misspelled as Connor. See it all the time.

That was his point. He was teasing the people that forget the 's' on Highlands and those who spell Conner wrong. Hence why he said the two misspelled schools are close to each other.
