strike-3
Once again Owensboro Catholic comes up just a bit short. They have played in seveal championship games recently. All A Baseball, Basketball, and Football multiple times, but they just can't get it done. The girls softball, however, is a different story. nWo
I would have reported the final results in the update thread but stickymitts beat me to it because a light bulb burned out in a lamp in my livingroom and I had to call Mrs. nWo, who is on her way back from Charleston, S.C., to find out where the new bulbs were! Crossbar
Congrats to Beechwood from a fellow NKY supporter. They were my preseason pick to win the All A state championship and here they are. The 9th region will be a battle this year.
Butterfingers
After reading the box score I find it hard to believe O Catholic would issue an intenional walk to get to Curly in the ninth. That is not the scouting report I have read.
Crossbar
So did OCath intentionally walk the bases loaded for Curley? Or intentionally walk to put 2 runners on?
nWo
So did OCath intentionally walk the bases loaded for Curley? Or intentionally walk to put 2 runners on? Beechwood 9th - J Baker reached on a fielding error by 2b (1-1). P Muth out at first p to 2b, SAC, bunt (0-0); J Baker advanced to second. E Sawyer intentionally walked. C Curley singled to center field, RBI (0-0); E Sawyer advanced to second; J Baker scored, unearned. 1 run, 1 hit, 1 error, 2 LOB.

That is not the scouting report I have read. Wow. One out, runner on 2nd and they walk Sawyer intentionally to get to NKY's version of Pujols. Looks like the D cost OC - only one earned run given up. So there were runners on first and second after the intentional walk? That's what I'm trying to gather here. Sounds right though.
nWo
So there were runners on first and second after the intentional walk? That's what I'm trying to gather here. Sounds right though. It looks like a runner reached on an error. The next batter sacrifice bunt him to second. The next batter received the intentional walk. Then came the game winning hit. So there were runners on first and second when the game winning hit came.
Beechwoodfan
Congrats to my Tigers, especially Chris Curley. What a great way to top off your senior year! You deserve it! :ylsuper:
cshs81
Then came the game winning hit. I know Owensboro is not exactly close to Ft Mitchell so maybe OC didn't know anything about Curley. Too bad they don't read BGP.
