Wireman Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 This is a pretty bizarre story... :eyeonyou::eyeonyou::eyeonyou: Police in Kentucky Town Ship Mentally Ill Man to Florida, Defying Judge?s Order | Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting At least they shipped him to the correct state I guess. #GlassIsHalfFull
theguru Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 If what is in the article is true, house needs to be cleaned at the Carroll County Police Department. I will add, I had a slightly similar dealing with Carroll County PD several years ago. I see their cavalier attitude towards the mentally ill hasn't changed.
BigVMan23 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 So, how does Chief Michael Willhoite keep his job after a stunt like this? Not only went against a judge's orders, but put the public at risk putting this disturbed guy on a public bus.
rockmom Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Wow....just....wow...I can't say what I said when I read that.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 That story is definitely bizarre. Doesn't sound like real life at all.
UKMustangFan Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Fire every last one of them, and charge them to the fullest extent the law allows.
theguru Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Fire every last one of them, and charge them to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't often agree UK but we are in the ballpark together on this one.
TheDeuce Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Wow... Disturbing that these officials were stupid enough to see something like this through.
lawildcat Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Dude got a free trip to Florida! What's the problem?
littleluck55 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Maybe this is why we get these crazy stories from FL. Kentucky is just late to the party. Every state ships the mentally ill to FL. All joking aside, this is messed up
Jim Schue Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 If what is in the article is true, house needs to be cleaned at the Carroll County Police Department. I will add, I had a slightly similar dealing with Carroll County PD several years ago. I see their cavalier attitude towards the mentally ill hasn't changed. CCSO is not the responsible party here. The Carrollton PD is.
Jim Schue Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Is anyone surprised by this? I grew up in the next county over from Carrollton. So, no. It's a strange town and county.
SportsGuy41017 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 And now they had to charge him with a new crime in order to extradite him to Kentucky. The offense? Escape from jail, a felony.
