I tear up because it makes me think back about MY relationship with my parents as a teen; and now getting it all handed back to me by my own (thanks Karma). Anyway, I love the truth in the song title and have taken comfort in the lyric “There’s you in everything I do.”

May 30, 201511 yr Without the benefit of any pre-show knowledge of Jeremy Messersmith, (singer/songwriter from Minneapolis), I rolled the dice and ended up yelling Yahtzee!, when I had the pleasure of experiencing his wonderful intimate show, sight unseen, in November of 2008 at the Southgate House Parlor while he was touring in support of his 2nd release. After the show I felt compelled to compliment him on what a moving batch of songs that he had written, and make sure to not go home without first purchasing from him all the discs that he had available for sale at the merchandise table. June 1, 201511 yr Forever Young-Rod Stewart. It says everything I want for my children. It means so much to me, it's the song I picked to dance to with my son at his wedding. I really dig this song too. Interesting thing about "Forever Young" is that there's been three separate tunes entitled "Forever Young" with Bob Dylan's and Rod Stewart's versions sharing similar sentimental lyrical content. The 3rd was written and performed by a German New Wave band named Alphaville during the 80's that became an international hit, and then covered in 2006 by an Australian band "Youth Group" moving them from obscurity earning them a Number 1 hit in their home country. Rod Stewart Here Is Bob's version performed with The Band Alphaville One night about 10 years ago I decided to take in a low dough show at the no longer existing Covington venue Mad Hatter knowing nothing about any of the bands on the bill. While settling in at the bar with my first beer I overheard a group of nice chaps chatting away in what I thought to be British accents. I asked them if they were from England, and they laughed and said "No we're from Australia. "Are you one of tonight's bands?" I asked, and they said "Yes, we're called Youth Group". Then they took the stage and blew me away. The lead singer obviously had what it takes. $5 dollars well spent. I continued to follow their career and was pleased for them when their dues had finally paid off with their charting success in Australia. I get a huge thrill in catching awesome bands that I know nothing about, and especially on the cheap. I think that I live for stuff like that. Youth Group
