How many returning starters are on the Ryle OL this year? Have heard that might be the weakest part of the team. Is it all new players? Anyone know their sizes?

Chase Ross is their biggest lineman.

Several returning linemen either started some games or saw significant varsity action. Namely Nick Yowan at guard, Jordan Colette at center, Chase, and Jacob Hiles at guard also. Don't have height and weights, haven't seen a roster.

So Colette got playing time at center? I thought the other Ross brother was the all last year?

Those linemen are not very big for a 6A team.

 

Hiles 5'10 225

Colette 6'0 200

Yowan 6'1 200

Ross 6'3 280

A players a player no matter the level. From what I've seen and heard he's going to do great this year. Another top notch NKY Qb to continue the trend.

 

I do agree that a player is a player, but the class does matter. While at Hazard he will not see nearly the amount of athletes that he will up here. Also, didn't he have a D1 receiver while at Hazard? That makes things a lot easier as well in small school football.

 

I am not taking anything away from the kid, he seems like the real deal. But to think he will not have a few more struggles early on coming from Hazard to Ryle is foolish, IMO

To the standout players, which he looks to be, the class doesn't matter. They will excel at any level. Sure he'll have some early struggles but that's to be expected. My guess is he'll be mentioned with the top NKY QB's before the end of the season.

I look at that situation the same as Drew BArkers situation while playing for Conner. DI Talent no doubt but he didn't have the supporting cast around him to help the team succeed. He had 1 great player around him Drew's JR year and that was Cam Fogle and then really no one other than Way his senior year. There is a reason Conner never could advance past the first couple rounds in the playoffs each year with Drew and that was because he didn't have the supporting cast.

 

Tanner Morgan this year will have the running game to help him out but the real question will be the receivers. Will he have that stud or two receivers that will help him out? Only time will tell. I think England however should take a lot of heat off of Tanner Morgans shoulders though. They do have better weapons than I think Drew had once Cam graduated and went to walk on at UK.

I think he will be the #1 QB in NKY when all is said after the season. He may not have the best team record, but as far as the QB position I think he is #1 and will finish that way.

Why are you so hung up on how tall a kid is and how much he weighs? Means very little to nothing in the high school game if you cannot move. Especially in todays day and age, smaller more agile lineman are the way to go with the type offenses that are being run.

Means a lot if the Dline is pushing you around. Big difference when you have kids over 240 pounds going up against 200 pound kids.
