First 4 games are tough. Only seeing them winning vs Boone Co. And the last 2 games are definitely an L.

 

With what I know about what Dixie and Ryle have returning, I say Ryle is the favorite in that matchup.

I've read this about their line in multiple places, if the line is the biggest concern wouldn't that make it a little more difficult for the "skilled positions" to excel against above average teams? I know in my day that some below average "skilled position" players could look really good on film when they had a line that was able to block and protect. Could it be possible this below average line could do just the opposite to these above average skilled position players? If the line is as shaky as some say then I dont see more than a 6 win season with that schedule, if the line steps up and does their job then Ryle could potentially beat anyone at anytime. Cant wait to see how it all shapes up!

First thing first above average skilled players where was they last year? Arwine was their best skilled player last year amd he is gone. Ryle will struggle unless a buss full of "skilled players" just got dropped off in Union.

I gave Highlands credit and I believe we beat them a couple of years ago. I don't know about owning anyone.

The first goal for the Raiders is to become the best team in Boone County, then they can move on to the next challenge which is to be the best team in their district. If they accomplish that task they can concentrate on being the best team in their region, etc. etc. etc. and so it goes. The raiders are blessed with a lot of talent for the next few years. If they have grown as players and athletes they will be very good. It is safe to say that their athletic ability has not diminished since they were Freshmen. How much they have grown will be determined on the field. They have three excellent classes and the Ryle fans are excited to begin the season.

Ryle is going to be good, real good. And yes their lines growth and development will be key in determining their success as a line is for every team that takes the field.

 

Key games will be Cooper, SK, Covcath, and Highlands. And I believe they'll be good enough to win 2, maybe three, of those games. The Raiders will have too much talent and depth at the skill positions. And their kids always play extremely hard and are well coached. They don't make many mistakes.

 

Tanner Morgan may experience a few bumps in the road transitioning from A-AAAAAA, however, I think he'll settle in nicely and show the region why he's being offered by the likes of Wake Forest as a sophomore. Colin England, if he stays healthy, will impress and have a banner year amongst a very solid group of athletes in Union. I'd be disappointed if they don't go 8-2 this season. The Raiders will be a lot of fun to watch this season. Wishing you well except for when you play my Dixie Heights Colonels! :smug:

I know there has been debate here on whether freshman results correlate well to varsity results, but it most certainly did for last years Dixie team and I believe it does for this Ryle team as well.

SK needs only 3 wins in a row to get to .500 vs Ryle in the last 10 years. It's make or break time for SK!!
