Also some things got stolen from Justin's room. He has a bulletin board in his room that I decorated. Everything was there on Friday and I noticed on Sunday that only one cross and 1 rosary was hanging along with the pictures and the phrases. Someone even took his guardian angel.

This is pathetic. I can't believe that someone would do something like this.

Dr Shutter checked out Justin's CAT Scan she wants Justin to get an MRI and to go back to UC for a check up. She was not alarmed and said the fluids in his brain were running like they should. We will know more after the MRI.

The speech therapist came in today and said that Justin does not have to wear those splints on his feet anymore because he is moving his feet and legs around. He also said that Justin does not have foot drop.

 

We moved him today to the Batavia Nursing home in Batavia, Ohio. It's a nice clean place and the people working there are very kind. We kept telling everyone there not to get attached to Justin because we won't be there long. It's 28 miles from my house and it takes me about 40 minutes. It is real close to my mom's (Grandma Bonnye) house.

Justin is doing fine at his new temporary residence. His bed is a little to small for him and they are looking into getting a longer one for him.

I met his new doctor, Dr. Gennantonio. All his doctors have been young blondes. I keep telling him he needs to wake up to see all the ladies that are checking him out.

I met with an occupational therapist about getting him his special chair so we can take him outside. They will have to rent one.

The wound nurse came in and changed his dressings on his treach, feeding tube and his wound. His wound is now only 7.8 x 2 centimeters.

He has now lost about 60 pounds but he still looks good to me. He is going to be so mad when he sees all the muscle mass that he has lost. He's been working out for years to get it and it only took 8 weeks for him to lose it.

We are living by Faith and taking one day at a time. Keep up those prayers, I need for Justin to come home.

Sounds like things are coming along and it's only a matter of time. As for the muscle loss when he comes around just tell him it's something else he has to look forward to another goal. I do like the motivation though tellin him he should see all the young blondes checkin him out that's great. Good luck to Justin and family..

Well it was nine weeks ago today since the accident.

They finally got Justin a chair yesterday so after they got him up in it we took him out of his room for a couple of hours. He is sitting up better in his chair. He is weaker on his right side but the last couple of days he has really been moving his right leg and pulling it up to his chest.

The speech therapist did some test with Justin yesterday on his swallowing reflexes and he did real good. He needs to get a FEES test done. The FEES test will check and make sure that when he swallows that it is going to his belly and not to his lungs. The doctor has to schedule it and it has to be done at a hospital.

His MRI is scheduled for this Thursday July 6th at UC. Hopefully he is small enough to fit inside the machine now and that they can get a good reading. I am also hoping maybe this road trip will jar him awake. Keep up those prayers.

They could not get a good MRI on Justin's head yesterday. They tried 3 times and he was moving around to much and they were very blurry. I don't think he liked being in the MRI machine. We have to reschedule one and he will have to be sedated. I was very disappointed.

The speech therapist came in yesterday and spoon fed Justin some pureed food to check his swallowing. He was swallowing with no trouble. She is going to schedule the swallowing test for Justin at the Clermont Mercy hospital which is right next door to the nursing home. They still consider Justin in a moderate coma. He doesn't following simple commands.

Well it was 10 weeks ago yesterday since Justin's accident.

I still don't know the results of his Cat Scan. It's different at the nursing home, we don't get to see a doctor every day. The house doctor comes in on Thursdays so we should get the results then. We got to meet the rehab doctor yesterday, his name is Dr Carruthers. He didn't really have much to say. He also needs to see the Cat Scan results. Then he will possibly start Justin on another type of medicine that could help to wake him up. There are several types of medicines that he could use. He said the worst side effect could be possible seizures.

The wound nurse informed me yesterday that the wound on Justin's stomach is infected. She started treating it yesterday with some type of paste. The paste will draw the infection out. It hasn't healed any from last week it is still a 7 centimeters.

Therapy finally came and got him yesterday and took him for about 30 minutes or so to work with him.

I see him getting stronger every day and I feel in my heart that he will be fully recovered. People that haven't seen him in a while are amazed when they see him and the changes that he has made. I will never give up the faith. It's been a long hard road and I know we still have a while to go.

Yesterday the Batavia Care Center got the results back from the Cat Scan but no one there can explain them to me. I have to wait and talk to a nueroligist. The house doctor is scheduling an MRI for Justin. I hope to get the date today.

Justin is scheduled for a Modified swallowing test today at 2:15 at the Mercy Hospital Clermont.
