We are looking at another awesome year in the 12th!!!!

I hope the Powell brothers end up eligible. The appeal process has been kind in recent years.

Rumor is that they are trying to go to Rockcastle County now.

Just a rumor (for now).

They lost the appeal also.
How does Coldiron's move to Wayne County affect the preseason rankings? I think it will be very interesting to see how a guy with his size and body meshes with Wayne County's frenetic pace and style of play.
Mercer County will still be #1 . Southwestern was probably 2nd with Wayne County 3rd but I would probably now have them ranked 2a and 2b. It should be another fun year in the 12th Region.

Damn. I hate that for them.

Dylan's father put in applications all over the state. Whichever school district had a job opening and felt Mr. James was a good fit was going to get Dylan. With population numbers declining in Martin County (with the downsizing of the coal industry) this move was driven by the famly's desire for stability. Mercer County was fortunate as Mr. James interviewed and was offered a position. I would say lots of schools had an opportunity to get Dylan if they had positions avaiable.

Recruting and AAU do play a factor in where kids go, but this particular case would be the execption in my opinion. Great family that was looking for job stability and found it at Mercer. If a job were offered anywhere before this, that school district would have benefited on the hardwood as well.

I wish the James family and Coach Cook the best of luck this upcoming season. Its not always easy to leave everything you have ever known and be successful (especially when you were having success).

Maybe so but it wouldn't be so coincidental had James not been rumored to go to Lawrence County when Coach Cook was there for two different years.

I heard Powell got a lawyer and going to court not going to rock

This is what I heard also.

Heard Somerset contested the move. They should have lied about their address or handed over guardianship as several of their players have in the past. I'm pretty sure there was a couple kids move from Somerset to Southwestern and back to Somerset while living at the same house. Of course, Somerset had no issue when it plays in their favor.

Hmm. I never heard that back then.

Couldn't imagine that trying yet another school, after having just been denied, would have a positive outcome.

Someone give me an update on West Jess. What should we expect outta them? They have basically slid under the radar up until this point, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they pan out.

They've added 3 kids that I know of. Cam Jones and Avery Cox from East and Joe Gilbert from Lex Cath. They had one really good 8th grader last year that will probably see some time as a freshman. I have no idea what his name is.

West will always be good. Well coached.

The real question is if Burgin will actually be better than East Jessamine this year?

I saw where Southwestern's Stephen Fitzgerald and Danny Butt were visiting Clemson this weekend. I think Peyton Broughton from North Laurel was also there.
