They've added 3 kids that I know of. Cam Jones and Avery Cox from East and Joe Gilbert from Lex Cath. They had one really good 8th grader last year that will probably see some time as a freshman. I have no idea what his name is.

 

West will always be good. Well coached.

 

The real question is if Burgin will actually be better than East Jessamine this year?

 

The freshman is likely Greer Stone — He's got some great size (plays TE for the football team) and great hands for a kid his age.

 

Cox gives them some much-needed size down low — but he was a quiet player at East. Don't think that will change. They just need him to be a defensive rock.

 

As for East Jess, I know they have had a couple new kids come in, but this is going to be a tough year for them. 10 wins might be a success.

Per several Wayne County faithfuls, Rodney Woods will be HC this season.

I thought he was suppose to retire. I wonder what made him change his mind?

I could be mistaken but I think he did the whole retire from teaching but continue to coach thing that others have done. I was told that he would be allowed to return as the coach on October 1 so I am speculating that was the case.
