2015-16 16th Region

Featured Replies

I really think Lewis County is going to turn some heads next season. Return 4 of 5 starters and the kid who will likely replace the one starter we lost will just be a sophomore with a ton of upside and potential. Lewis will most likely start 5 guys all over 6'.

The region will be wide open again next year

That's what I expected. although I admittedly don't know a tremendous deal about the 16th. I assumed Elliott & Morgan would possibly be the two favorites if you had to pick, but I anticipate a wide open 2015-16 16th Region.

Region is wide open granted the early favs should be Morgan and Elliot Lewis will be a tough out with a solid returning group and the best coach in the region IMO. Don't sleep on Boyd there jv and fresh groups last year were both very good

As someone posted earlier Rowan beat Morgan early in the year. Their experience really helped them I believe in that game. Callahan, and Graham are gonna be very difficult to replace. Morgan lost Reparth, again an all around good player who will also be hard to replace. Elliott lost Holbrook and Sloas. Guess it just depends on how much each team improves. I am not sure if Ben Jordan is even playing basket ball this coming year. I figure after his injury he may just focus on basketball. But if he plays and is healthy then West Carter should be much improved. East still has key guys who will be back. Boyd should be decent also. Then there is Fairview who return several good players. And you can never count out Lewis co with their great coach. I honestly don't believe neither Elliott or Morgan will be unbeatable. I just feel like they have the best chance at this point to return to the regional finals.

Morgan lost there best player,Redparth. Parry and his 27 a game didn't get him all state. You thought it was funny when I said Jair Jackson ,should have been co 16th POY, by the way Jair made All State team. Perry better start playing a lot more D ,and rebound more. From What I seen Morgan was Redparth, and Perry. Didn't see a 3rd, just some role players. I all most for got, you said Jordan cant D up , because he would be to tired to score, and cherry pick. Morgan will win a few game's but not win 16th. I'm sure they play a bunch of weak team's , as they did last season. Jordan will get his points and that's fine, but Morgan will be mid to low at best. The 16th is wide open. Elliot and Lewis maybe. I feel It will be a great year to watch how the 16th pans out. By the way good luck Greenup Co, you'll need it with Tackett still coaching.

Yeah. Played Greenup twice last season (2 Ws btw)

I retract my former statement about posters not banging on Perry. And I'm not shocked at the culprit.

Per Twitter the Cougars will have another top 5 player on the floor next season. Just got eligible.

Can you post the Tweet?

I looked the kid up. Looks like he's a pretty solid guard. Class of 2017? He'll be trouble in the region for a few years.

Does the kid have a name?

I hate on Morgan, but I will promote Perry and how great he is because it's true. Kids gonna be a top 5 alltime in the state in total points probably (if my math wasn't wrong)

Just do not like the school or the coach at all.

I can always count on you Spin, for some love... lol

They did, Greenup should have won game 2. Lack of coaching is a big problem at Greenup. I 'm not a hater , Jordan can score. But there's more to the game, is all I'm saying. I look at players for more than points, I'm not a "he scores the most , so he's the best".

I respect that. I understand the reasons for you to dislike the program and coach. I myself like coach Perry and admire the things he does for the youth of the county. But again I understand where you are coming from. A note on Jordan Perry, 5 games were cancelled due to the weather this past year. Would have given him another 100+ points probably.

No. Scores the most isn't automatically the best. And neither is rebounds the most. I noticed Greenup didn't report free throw percentage or FG %.

I'd be interested to know what Jair's free throw made percentage was. Does anyone have that statistic?

And KHSAA doesn't show stats on any team for steals, deflections, blocks (obviously Jair would excel here), assists, or turnovers. You can't go by numbers alone.
