2015-16 16th Region

When? Rowan wasn't in the regional final...

Oh yeah, I forgot. Rowan didn't make it to the finals. Callahan was triple teamed by nachos, Mt Dew, and popcorn during the finals.

No I didn't forget.

That's the point.

Everyone says if Perry is best in the region why didn't Morgan win? Conversely, If people think Callahan was the best in the region why didn't Rowan win? A team's success and failures do not rest on one student-athlete.

So, Mr. Viking. If Ryne Callahan was best player in the region, and wasn't even double teamed- why didn't Rowan win?

And if you're talking about the semifinals, you're WAAAYYYY off base. EC did not "triple team" him; they didn't even double him. He plays off the ball so much, coming off a ton of screens, that it's virtually impossible to double him. If you did, Whelan would carve you up. Try again.

The same Whelan that averaged a whopping 7.4 ppg and shot 42% from the field. Doubtful he could carve any team up.

And I remember one turnover to Griffith under EC basket on an inbound. He practically handed them the ball. Whelan is a great kid, but like all kids isn't flawless. It was a turning point in that game.

The bottom line is Jordan Perry only gets credit given to him by Morgan fans. There are a few who also give him credit. But a lot who want to critique every aspect of his game. The kid can play regardless of who he plays for. I mean here is a kid that tied for 2nd in scoring last year. Let's try and focus on the good things the kid does. And a lot people give coach Perry so much crap due to kids either moving in or foreign exchange students. It happens in every region and on a lot of teams. But for some reason some of those other 16th region teams and their fans do nothing but put the Morgan co basketball program down. Who wouldn't take transfers or a foreign exchange student that can play?

The same Whelan that is getting ready to pick up multiple college offers.

I'll give props to Whelan. He's a heck of an athlete. Great kid. Smart basketball player. Great soccer player. Had a great performance at state AAU last weekend for Charlotte Court.

Just like I'll say Callahan can shoot the lights out.

I can recognize other kids' accomplishments.

I hope he does. It makes the whole region look good. What schools are considering him?

Lol. Carving up teams

Larry will get the defensively hounded this season w/o Callahan & Graham. He needs to improve his ability to create off the dribble & prove he can knock down shots. In the Regional tournament he was non-existent because Rowan County looked to Callahan to score every trip.

Has nothing to do with scoring. One of the best passers in the state. If one player was gettting "triple teamed" he would have 20 assists. Played for the State AAU champs this past weekend. You'll get a dose of him next year as he takes a bigger role.

I can officially never take you seriously about any basketball conversation again...

Fair point about his jumper, but he will get to the rim at will against 16th region teams.

Cause Elliott beat them. Rowan tried to press the whole game and it was ineffective. They were worn out late int eh 3rd.

I would expect more from a "bball legend".

Is the region suppose to fear his drive. Lay off & force him to shoot. His inability to score cost them a chance at advancing. He doesn't even look to score.
