I haven't seen him play, but Sean Woods's son is a currently an 8th grader at RCMS. Will be a freshman next year. I'm sure with the loss of Graham and Callahan that he'll be seeing some time on the court on the perimeter.

That'll be great for him, to get him some experience at that level. I'm sure he plays AAU ball against kids who are tough but AAU and school ball are two different things. I haven't saw the kid in person either, can anyone who has give us their opinion?

 

Also I wouldn't say that if Greenup had Morgan County's schedule they would have more wins. Morgan played in the toughest district last year and their schedules seemed pretty even to me.

7-13-12. number of wins Tackett's 3 years. Or may be its Tackett. Baseball win's every year, Basketball has won in the past. And there has been Talent for him.

I know Coach Ward caught a lot of heat late in his GC career, but does the fact that Logan doesn't teach and put a lot if his own time etc into the program keep people from getting on for anything?

The only thing I have herd about Coach Logan ,is about playing time. Which happens with all coaches ,and schools. In MOP coach Logan , win's and treats all kids the same. No matter how good, or who the parents are. He is very fair. I think that's why keep people off him. (and winning) He does put a ton of time in, but I don't think that factor s in.

All kidding aside I will pick my Elliott County Lions to repeat; with four returning starters and the Spencer Kid moving up to possible starting position they will be strong this next season. Again, like last season, A lot could depend on who is hot at the time. :popcorn:

I like Elliott Co, chance to repeat. But its kind of wide open, I'm Greenup all the way, but there's something about Elliot I like. And I find my self rooting for them. If Greenup doesn't win, witch they wont (Harold Tackett) will help with that. I'm good with the boys from the HOOK !

The Spencer kid starting will help makeup for the loss of the Holbrook's scoring. Lots of leadership and experience on the group of Lions and they have to be the favorite to win.

 

A defender is going to have to step up this year though and take the place of Sloas from last years team. Kid could flat out play defense.

It's a large county that while the school is consolidated the communities never bought into it. Coach Logan is from greenup so he understands the situation better than coaches who come into the area. And I've seen woods play for Rowan 8 the grade. He is a nice player

Morgan County is looking good for this year. Played Johnson Central last night. Won easily 71-56

 

Also defeated Bath County as well.
