April 20, 201511 yr I am having a hard time believing that Jeb Bush could be elected President - mainly because of being Bush #3 . I feel there is going to be a bias people will have and they will look for ways not to vote for him. If it is Jeb versus Hillary, the same bias that will work against Hillary versus any other Republican candidate might actually favor Hillary. I think if Jeb Bush is the nominee, Hillary has her best chance at getting elected.
April 20, 201511 yr Hillary is the strong favorite at this point but things can change. The bias you spoke of does work against Jeb but I believe he is certainly electable. I mean let's face it, it's probably going to be Jeb vs Hil. As usually happens, a lot of people will hold their noses and vote for one or the other. Maybe in another nine years it will be Chelsea vs one of the Bush girls. They just won't go away. Kinda like herpes.
April 20, 201511 yr He's a Bush, of course he is electable. In fact, I believe we are looking at another Bush/Clinton race.

April 20, 201511 yr I doubt it. Although, you could argue he's the most centrist candidate of them all. We all know that being a moderate doesn't usually help win elections, especially primaries.
April 20, 201511 yr For you Republicans out there in BGPland , why on Earth would you entertain the thoughts of voting for some of those on the lunatic fringe(I'm not really a Dean Ambrose fan) like Rand Paul or Ted Cruz over someone like Jeb Bush, who despite having the DNA of GHWB and GWB, seems remarkably sensible and more than capable of not doing anything worse than running the country into the ground? I think his problem with a lot of Republicans(especially Tea-Party ones) is that he's TOO sensible. He was a pretty decent governor wasn't he? Some of the other loons haven't governed anything. Is it because the Bush's and Clinton's are pretty close personal friends? If I was a Republican, I think Jeb would be the ONLY choice.

April 20, 201511 yr Is he electable? Depends on how much the media sticks it to him. I think he'd make a heck of a lot better president than Hillary would.

Would depend I guess on what you wanted to get done. I'd be okay with a ticket of Clinton/ Bush or Bush/Clinton as long as Clinton got to pick the Supreme Court nominees. That's what I want- at least one more liberal SC justice.
April 20, 201511 yr If his father and brother were electable, so is he. Probably too centrist for much of BGP nation, but quite electable.
April 20, 201511 yr He's more electable than most, if not all, of the other GOP candidates. Combined.

Be interested to hear what makes Paul, the "Lunatic Fringe" as you called him.
