You heard correct. The scary part is that he didn't pitch his best game against Eastern and still beat them. He has been throwing the ball very well of late and will only get better as the season progresses.

Quentin Morgan from Leslie County

I'd say Mutsch and Curley are even. I know when Nathan pitched against Beechwood this last Sunday that no Beechwood player could get around on his fastball. If it wasn't for a bad second inning for Nate then this game would have gone into extras. Curly pitched the last two innings in this game and there were a couple of BBHS hitters that were able to get around on him. I just think that neither of these two are any better than the other, they are both even IMO.:thumb:

Danville's Rich Witten. He's 7-0 and has betten some pretty good teams.

 

He is only a junior and is already getting clocked in the consistent low 90's. I believe he will be a big time prospect.

From what I was viewing at that game sunday, mutsch seemed like his fastball was only in the mid to upper 80's. I would have to say 85-88m.p.h. on most pitches, But he had great location with his fastball's and he pitched a great game. Not to say he is a bad pitcher or anything, but from what i have seen, he doesnt throw low 90's on a consistant basis, I think he may top out in the very low 90's but not consistantly.

You must be thinking of someone else...I dont think that i have ever seen Morgan throw a breaking ball lol

I realize this is a BASEBALL forum, but has anyone seen the ShelbyValley softball pitcher? Not sure of the name, but she's awesome.

How many of the states top pitchers also has 19 homers this season. This kid is for real. He may only throw high 80's consistent, but with that pop and his pitching stats, he has to be a leading candidate for the 07 Mr. Baseball award.

Were most of those 19 home runs on Danville's home field, due to the short field?

according to Danville's stat-man 7 of his HR's were at home the other 12 on the road.

Seems to me that everybody you guys are mentioning are competing for second-best.

Justin Marks from O Catholic threw a 1 hitter and struck out 15 against Danville on Sunday. He was also named by Baseball America as the #1 rated player in the state of Kentucky, and has been nominated for Gatorade Player of the Year from Kentucky. If there is a better pitcher in the state I will have to see him.

I think Chas Moore from Beechwood deserves a little recognition, he is 7-0 with a .48 era... He may not be a top 5 pitcher in the state, but in my opinion he is in the top 25.
