April 19, 201511 yr Interesting article in St. Louis newspaper: Reds manager says team does not "anticipate victory" when playing in St. Louis. Link below. Price says Reds don't 'anticipate' victory at Busch : Sports
April 19, 201511 yr Reds aren't menally weak. They are just bad. They haven't had a consistent offense in years and this teams offense isn't any better than last years. Their Team BA is horrible. They have no bull pen outside of Chapman. This is team is just bad. They will be lucky to not finish last.
April 19, 201511 yr Reds are mentally weak and the Cardinals are simply better at every phase of the game (with the possible exception of defense). Definitely better at hitting, starting pitching and relief pitching. Hence, they beat the Reds like rented mule...
April 19, 201511 yr Author Should point out this is the same Reds team that took four straight from world champion Giants in San Fran last year. When Price says team doesn't "anticipate victory" coming in to home park of main rival in NL Central, that's really got me scratching my head. Wonder if that's a bit of an indictment against the manager, who's certainly not a rah-rah skipper.
April 19, 201511 yr Its obvious that some on this Reds team are mentally weak. The ending to yesterdays game proves this.
April 19, 201511 yr The Reds organization needs to take a hard look at their whole organization from the bottom at single A all the way to the top. They have been a bad fundamental team for years. Even when they won 90+ games under the toothpick they were not a good fundamental team. They depended on the long ball on offense but couldn't manufacture a run to save their rear ends. Then too the organization doesn't have a lot of talent at the lower levels so it may be hard to teach fundamentals to bad players. Maybe it's time for Castellini to part ways with his buddy Walt and bring in some smart young baseball people at all levels. Price can't make chicken soup out of chicken :poop:.

Starts with the owner, team needs a new one, time for a sale.
April 20, 201511 yr So what was the reason they fired Dusty? Dusty was horrible at managing a game especially pitchers. Just because we have a bad manager now doesn't mean Dusty wasn't too.
April 20, 201511 yr Reds start 4-0 and are now 5-7 Lol. That is horrible. 4 runs scored the entire weekend. Same problem they had for 5 years. They have Votto and that's it.
April 20, 201511 yr They aren't mentally weak, they just suck... Good news is if they keep it up at this pace there will be a fire sale at the deadline. Time to retool and plan for 2016 and beyond.
