April 20, 201511 yr Its obvious that some on this Reds team are mentally weak. The ending to yesterdays game proves this. Wait, what?
April 20, 201511 yr They aren't mentally weak, they just suck... Good news is if they keep it up at this pace there will be a fire sale at the deadline. Time to retool and plan for 2016 and beyond. Yep. Just think of what Cueto and Chapman will be able to bring in return at the deadline.
April 20, 201511 yr They are certainly fragile. If we don't see some of the young minor league guys in the pen soon, for sure a fire sale at the deadline. The one guy they won't trade may be the most fragile of all- Bruce.
April 20, 201511 yr Dusty was horrible at managing a game especially pitchers. Just because we have a bad manager now doesn't mean Dusty wasn't too. Not saying Dust was great. But I would assume the plan behind replacing your manager is for positive results, not a downgrade? What does Price bring to the table in a positive manner that Dusty didn't?
April 20, 201511 yr Wasn't Price supposed to be able to manage the pitching staff better? that was the knock on the Duster.
April 20, 201511 yr This topic makes me look back at the last several days and you want to talk about mentally weak. Look at the Reds and how they handle an opponent who slides hard into one of your guys and how the KC Royals handled the A's who slid hard into their palyer at 2nd base. That is the difference between a real team and the Reds. Reds are spineless.
April 20, 201511 yr Dusty was no Sparky Anderson but dammit he was better than this Price guy. The Reds have been a fundamentally unsound team for many years. They catch the ball well but that's about it. They are not disciplined at the plate and are terrible at situational hitting. They can't get 'em on, get 'em over, and get 'em in as Grande says ad nauseum. Jocketty has been an abject failure. I'm not hopeful at this point but I'm a Reds' fan for life.
April 20, 201511 yr I still believe that Jocketty has his hands tied by an owner that thinks he knows what he's doing but really doesn't. Reminds me of Jerry Jones.

Reds are like the Bengals anymore. They are my team but so frustrating to watch. It's as if any baseball IQ any player had leaves them as soon as they put on the Reds uniform. I get so tired of first pitch swinging especially after the player before you gets walked. Cozart getting a big league check is a crime. It would be one thing if he was a good defensive player like Phillips, then his offensive numbers could be somewhat excused, but the fact that he shouldn't even be a triple A player drives me crazy. These players have no clue how to even help your pitcher out. Cueto pitches a gem but throws a lot of pitches in an inning, and instead of getting rest his teammates go up to the plate and swing at the first pith every time and before Cueto can even sit on the bench and try to rest he is heading back to the mound. They are major leaguers who can't even lay down a bunt. It's not just one player, its the entire team for 5 years now who have no idea hot to even bunt a ball. Something I can go up to the plate facing major league pitchers and can lay down a bunt. At least if it isn't a fair ball I can at least put the bat on the ball. These guys can't even do that. This team is so fundamentally stupid it drives me crazy.
April 20, 201511 yr I still believe that Jocketty has his hands tied by an owner that thinks he knows what he's doing but really doesn't. Reminds me of Jerry Jones. You think Bob is telling Jocketty to handicap the roster by keeping injured guys active?
April 20, 201511 yr You think Bob is telling Jocketty to handicap the roster by keeping injured guys active? You never know. If they promote someone from the minors you then have to pay them major league contracts. I wouldn't put it past the bafoons we have running this team.
April 20, 201511 yr They aren't mentally weak, they just suck... Good news is if they keep it up at this pace there will be a fire sale at the deadline. Time to retool and plan for 2016 and beyond. Exactly, this is stupid. The Cardinals are better, consistently.
April 20, 201511 yr This is Jocketty's mess! He has created this roster of misfits and overpaid players. We have not drafted well and this is not any help coming from the minors soon.
April 20, 201511 yr This is Jocketty's mess! He has created this roster of misfits and overpaid players. We have not drafted well and this is not any help coming from the minors soon. If the truth were known, doubt that Walt gives those big contracts to Votto, Bruce, Phillips, Bailery, etc...
April 20, 201511 yr Cozart is the least of their issues. He is a solid defensive SS just does not do it with the flash that Phillips does.
