It has been confirmed that St. Henry has received a transfer in sharp shooting two-guard Matt Garnick, who will be a senior this year. He played the last two years for Covington Catholic. Could move the Crusaders up a spot or two in the poll.

Will he be eligible?

Will he be eligible?

Yes, to the best my knowledge. I'm not sure if i can disclose any details.

This has been rummored for the past two season. I have a few concerns though. St. Henry is loaded at the guard position and especially guards in the lower classes. Garnick could and should play right away, but where does he fit in at. Would Faust really want to cut a promising soph or junior when he is only going to have this transfer for one season?Thoughts?

Garnick is a decent player, but he really did not get much or any playing time at CovCath the past few years.

I would have to agree with you about if Faust really would want to reduce playing time or possibly cut a younger player for Garnick who only has 1yr of eligibility.

With Holmes losing Edmondson but getting Rice back, how much will that affect the outsome of some's predictions about the 9th region this year?

As of July 1st, my top 10-

1a. CovCath

1b. Holmes

3. Holy Cross

4. Simon Kenton

5. Bishop Brossart

6. NewCath

7. St. Henry

8. Ryle

9. Boone County

10. Highlands

IMO Covcath has the upper hand being defending region champs even though Holmes returns so much. This poll looks about right though and until the two play, I think CCH is #!.

I'd move Ryle and Highlands up. I'd add Dixie. NewCath is ranked too high, and Boone isn't a top 10 team. No's three to five could be put in any order on a given night.

I dont think #4 through 10 really matter cuz it will be one of the three 35th district teams that win the 9th region anyways

Fair enough, and I'd have to agree it is more than likely true. Just giving a little input into a NKY top 10.

Sandman: I saw Ryle play earlier this summer and they did have all their players, and did not look like a top 10 team at all. It will be a long coming year for the people in Union.

I like your picks especially Holy Cross, but totally disagree with Ryle. Ryle is not a top 10 team and they will have a very long year in Union.

Its cool...who do you think will go in to the cch holmes game favored? Can bo and tj lead the colonels past holmes this year?

Ryle will float in and out of the top 10. They aren't a bad team but they aren't world beaters either. They'll play .500 ball
