Everyone said this last year too and Holmes came out and beat them by 27 on HC home floor.

But i don't see Holmes self destructing this year...Rice really wasn't the starter of the problems last year, which everyone fails to realize and if you know the story, you know what I'm talking about. With Nate being gone, you will see a completely different Holmes team. I have watched these kids since they were in grade school and playing on the courts at John G. Carlisle and Glen O. Swing...Trust me. I know what I'm talking about, but if I'm wrong I'm willing to take a little criticism and eat crow as i stated before.

I think we can agree on this......IF Holmes does not self-destruct, they are easily the most talented team in the region. But judging from the past, that is a big IF. I hope you are right.

I hope I'm right too...these kids have all been through so much the past year and had a shot at state pretty much ruined last year because they couldn't keep their emotions in check. Hopefully this year, being seniors they can put everything all behind them and move on.

But as Big Stud said, with or without Edmondson, having Rice back is definetly going to make a huge difference. He can easily be the best player in the region this year if he can stay focused and play a little better defense this year.

Excuse me but I just cant find it in my heart to feel sorry for these kids. Im pretty sure " all the things they went through last year " was of their own doing. That's why it's called self-destruct, it's their fault.

LOL you have no clue of any other their situations thats for sure.

Sure they take some blame. But I think some are to quick to judge.

Couldn't agree with you more here...:thumb:

Just because one person messes up, it doesnt mean it's ALL of their faults. Also Austin Hill and Arrez Henderson are two of the hardest working kids in the area and if you PERSONALLY knew them, you'd know this. Like bigstud said, don't judge the team when you really only know what you hear and not the internal part of the problem....thanks. :thumb:

Im sorry guys, why dont you share with us this heartfelt story of the poor Bulldog team of 2006. Please do!!! All I know is what is reported. And Fights in the locker room and one player throwing fits on the floor and getting technical fouls and costing his team a game is all im hearing.

And by the way, I know Austin Hill and his family really well. OK. His mom, his grandma and grandpa, his aunt and his younger sister. I know them all better than you so dont tell me who I do and dont know PERSONALLY. And Austin will be just fine, he does stay out of trouble and does work hard. He will wind up at some college or university playing basketball and will be just fine. As for the whole Holmes team, I dont and wont feel sorry for them. You reap what you sow.

I too know Austin's family very well also, from his mother, to grandmother to his aunt Celeste and cousins. But as to the TEAM of 06, how can you say that?! So your saying because of 2 or 3 players, the whole team should be thought of in a defferent way? It's a shame that because of 2 players the whole team had to suffer and miss out on something great in winning region and getting back to state again. All I'm trying to say is dont give the whole team a label for something they didn't do.

Your right I shouldnt come down on the whole team but when those 2 or 3 players continue to do things that hurt there team and they continue to take these players back, then I dont feel sorry for the team. Certain players that work hard and dont cause any problems sure I feel sorry for them but the TEAM as a whole I dont and especially coach Henley who lets these things happen.

I understand where your comin from...i really do. But then again you also have to remember these are just high school kids and they're going to make mistakes and if they're willing to make sacrifices and work hard to get back on the team then it shouldn't be still brought up. Had something like this happened at say Covcath, Highlands, Dixie, or any of those schools I can almost guarantee we wouldn't still be talking about it. Move on and forget it. Coach Henley I'm sure has a tight grip on that program down there. He wouldn't kick the best player in the region off the team if he didn't...but like I said, everyone needs to just move on cuz it's all in the past.

It's funny how everyone want's to past judgement on Holmes, but truly has no idea what these kids go through on a daily basis. I have no problem what the staff decides, I have no problem with giving someone second chance if needed. Either way with or without Edmondson or Rice Holmes can still contend for the 9th region championship.

I am getting a big kick out of this soap opera that is Holmes basketball. Will this one stay? Will this one go? Will this one return? IMO no matter who plays for Holmes, they will be good. But not good enough, I will make CCHS my pick as #1.

Let everyone think what they want. They don't know what some of those kids go through, but I can guarantee if this was going on at a different school everyone would want to sympathize for those kids. It's cool though... but your hearing it here first from me...Holmes WILL win the 9th region championship this year and get back to Rupp.

And this will be my last post on this topic.
