I think it is Paul? However, I think they are trying to fix it. How they do that, I have no idea. But it is politics.

 

I think the rule in Kentucky (unlike some other states) is that you can't RUN for two offices at the same time. The "Fix" they are looking at only concerns the Republican Primary from what I read earlier. They are looking into having a Caucus earlier in the spring next year than the May primary.

Saw Cruz for a few minutes on Hannity. Not sure I liked him referring to Puten as a 'thug'.

After seeing your post, and since it had to do with Russia and Putin, I had to go watch this.

 

I am sure that just about everyone on here knows I am like a little McPapa, I am a hard-core democrat! BUT, I do not just vote party lines. I want Cruz to run because I know how it will end up very soon, a huge debacle that I will find very entertaining.

 

Having said that, I agree with what he said about Putin! He is 100% correct! Putin is a thug, and VERY dangerous! He needs to be stopped, and NOW! if not? I will promise you that Putin will continue. Russia has a military base in south central Ukraine, just watch, he will form a land bridge to that base. Russia has another military base on the Baltic Sea, their Baltic fleet in Kaliningrad, and guess what country Kaliningrad is in? Lithuania! I know people there, in all three Baltic nations (NATO nations), and they are truly concerned that soon Putin will send in troops. If he is not stopped, he will!

 

But Cruz has a major flaw, he wants to blame Obama and only him for all things Putin, which is far from the truth. This has been going on with Putin for over 12 years, he should have been put into his place around 2000-2002. It's not only the U.S., but the entire west that should have stopped him, and sadly the entire west continues to ignore Putin. You can't make deals with Putin, deals mean nothing to him. He made a deal so those troops in eastern Ukraine will pull back. In September he made such a deal, but look at the map now, he gained a lot of ground in Ukraine since then. Germany is one who is failing miserably on Russia and Putin. This is where the entire west needs to wake up before it's too late.

Putin may be thug but name calling is so un-POTUS. To personal if you really expect to have serious dealings with him.

 

He also openly called for arming Ukanians. Again, maybe a good idea - but do not be so cavalier.

 

For Germany, they could only under the NATO flag - unless we really want a classic WWIII.

 

NATO would be the best alliance to deal with situation. But Obama did declare the Red Menace a non-problem. And NATOs primary mission - to counter the Russians/former Soviets seem to be forgotten or ignored.

They are in this mess because of the west, we begged them to give up the nukes that were in their country after the fall of the Iron Curtain, as we promised them that we would protect them if we did, and why aren't we there? Many of Putin's rich friends want him to end the war there.

 

Putin needs more sanctions. Once that happens he will be treading water. His friends lost over $50 billion last year, just a little more to that, maybe double that lose, they will want his head! Also if one will look at who was the major backer of the people against Keystone, they will end up at the front doors of the Kremlin. He wants Keystone killed as he is building a pipeline in far east Russia that will serve a good deal of Asia. If Keystone is built, it will hurt the economy even more over there.

 

I sometimes wonder if Merkel has a thing for him, as she seems to kiss his rear end a lot.

Keystone means nothing internationally if the ban on oil exports isn't lifted. It isn't being lifted because it protects American refining interests and keeps gas prices artificially low domestically. I think the restrictions will be lifted eventually, but it's an uphill battle.

Cruz isn't my top choice or even my second. But I find the disdain for him comical. The far left quivered for Obama and his constitutional back round in law. Cruz backround in this area dwarfs Obama's. I actually heard a liberal commentator compare him to Palin which again is comical. Cruz is a very intelligent man with serious credentials. You may not agree with him but you can't deny his resume.

 

He won't win this election cycle more than likely but I do feel a sense of history with candidates like him labeled as rebels in the Republican party who eventual find success on the national stage.

 

The bottom line is no one the Democrats will offer have his resume or intelligence and some on here want to dimiss him as a goof. All I can do is chuckle because next week I will see a post how unintelligent republicans are.
