It's hard to beat a good team three times and that's just what Owensboro did. Consider that Bowling Green went 31-3 against everyone else and that 3 of their last 4 losses came to the Red Devils.

Bowling Green just ran into a team that was built to beat them. Owensboro threw that zone out there and also had guys in the middle that could block if it ever made it inside. That put stress on the outside shooters and honestly outside of Sine, they're just not consistent from outside. But it takes a special type of team to force them to that game because the Purples were very adept at getting to the rim.

I just can't believe it congratulations to my alma mater the Owensboro Red Devils on their Fifth State Championship 1917 ,1949 ,1972 ,1980 and now 2015..

And on the fifth day A stone appeared , a huge stone red and black many teams broke there selves against the stone and in the end when the smoke cleared a red and black banner appeared in the midst and those that wielded those colors were victorious let it be known on every inch of hallowed ground in this great state the Red Devils had conquered all.

i believe they just said on radio that the coach is the first coach to win as a player and as a coach for the same school. Congrats!

Bobby Watson almost was. He played for the Red Devils as a Senior in 1948...one year before a championship...then coached them to the title in 1972 and 1980.

Glad Owensboro won! Congrats!

Very nice poem there munciecentral..wow. Wow what a year what a group of ball players and they are Champions..in every sense...love it. Love it..WE ARE. OWENSBORO

Very Happy for Owensboro...They had a much more difficult route to the finals than Bowling Green and they deserved to win it. Congratulations!
