March 21, 201511 yr I was asking because if they are going to review something, a possible foul at the end of the game would make more sense to review than the ball going out of bounds at the start of a half. My point is why review anything if you don't review everything. I don't like the replay system at all, but if they are going to use it they need to fix it. At this point in time the NCAA's system is broken. If they are content on having a replay system they need to revamp it. Stop using the reviews, or review everything. A bad call is a bad call. A foul can be a game changer, as is a goaltending call, but they don't review those. However they will stop the game to see if your foot was on the line or if the timekeeper screwed up. That just makes no sense. Foot on line for a 2 or 3 = cut and dry Who touched the ball last = cut and dry Time on clock = cut and dry Who the foul was on = cut and dry Foul or no foul = not cut and dry at all. Nowhere close. The replay system is fine how it is.

NO major program was interested? Really? Sheer size alone would have benefited just about any team anywhere, and he winds up on the freakin' ANTEATERS?! He has a medical condition that keep the higher programs away...

March 21, 201511 yr Can't review judgement calls.. That's silly. Now to the game it's a win but man it's tuff being a card fan this season. Q won the game. Been a little hard on the guy but he showed true grit. It was frustrating watching Harrell being on top of the key the entire 2nd half and woundering why we have a non athlete walk on guard playing critical minutes. I mean we're Louisville and this guy is at best Lindsey Wilson sub. However we did survive just glad I don't have to hear about a team name Anteaters with a dude form the freak show knocking us out.

Nowhere close. The replay system is fine how it is. I'll give you the first one, the other three get screwed up occasionally, even with replays. But your mention of foul or no foul not being cut and dry is intriguing. I'm interested in hearing your expanation as to why you think the replay system is effective in every aspect other than calling a foul. To me, if the officials are competant, they should be able to determine whether a player was fouled or not by using the replay. If they can determine who fouled "said" player, why can't they determine if there was a foul on a particular play. That's their job, right?
March 21, 201511 yr I couldn't tell what some of the t.v. commentators were hinting in that a bad call at the end of this one cost Irvine the game. I thought that it looked like a steal, good defensive play. Also, as he has done so many times Pitino just outcoached his opposing coach. Rick is one of, if not the top tournament coaches in the NCAA.
March 21, 201511 yr Let's talk about the game. UofL struggled with UCI's "diamond & 1" on Rozier. They started playing it in the 2nd half. Instead of tucking Rozier in the corner and playing 4 on 4 with a more wide open floor, they kept trying to run their typical weave to get the ball in Rozier's hands. Of course, doing that against a box & chaser or diamond & 1, you force the ball into double teams. Luckily, Blackshear and Snyder did enough to keep them in the game. Trez disappeared after 3 nice momentum dunks early in the 1st half. He hustled, but got isolated on defense and blown past and didn't factor in the offense. Mangok was good against a tough opponent. He had to play almost all of the 2nd half, presumably due to Onuaku injury. Snyder continues to improve dramatically. Shot selection and running the offense were very good. 2 clutch FTs at the end of the game after grabbing a clutch rebound. Nice coaching by Pitino to hold onto his fouls on UCI's next to last possession. That said, UCI allowed that to happen. They did not challenge by driving & dishing to force contact. They ended up settling for a very bad shot with plenty of time on the clock for UofL to answer even if Q had not been fouled. At a minimum, if UCI forced UofL to foul them once, they could have held for the last shot and, at worst, forced OT. UNI will be a tough matchup. Sweet 16 would be a nice accomplishment for this team.

March 21, 201511 yr Lots of minutes for David Levitch. Have to imagine Anton Gill's time at Louisville is just about finished. Levitch isn't any good so if he's getting Gill's minutes, Pitino must really be angry with him.
