Not sure what any of that has to do with our domination over the past 8 years. Defense has never been a big deal to HHS, Dale even made jokes about it during his induction into the NKY HOF. He put his best people on offense, nothing wrong with that. Obviously. Bottom line is winning, rather it's with offense, with defense, with one player the focus, or whether it's a team with a ton of weapons.

Yep. Wow. I'm talking during the run. 8 straight finals winning 7. No team in 120 games has shut down their offense since it became the dominant unit, not even close. Not sure where the issue is. How many times on here have we heard people close to the program lament that someone on the second team offense would make a big difference if they were moved to the defense? I'm not saying the defense is ignored, just that the focus has been on offense. Add to the fact that the high level offense gives their own defense challenges and the performance of the D is just not a big deal, at least not to try to undermine how good HHS has been. Kind of like the NBA used to be, who cared if you gave up 120 points if you were scoring 150?

 

As to the thread, one thing I'll say about CCH is that they are the only team in the past 8 years to get a totally focused and excited HHS team from the opening to closing whistles every time they've played. And yes, I'm including state championships, FL and OH big schools. I'm not going into details but the focus put on beating CCH every year is astonishing. I really don't know how the coaches continue to do it year in year out given the results of the games the past several years. CCH has had some very good teams in that time, just not good enough to get past HHS. No shame in that and they have plenty of company.

The point in my rebuttal about Cov Cath only winning games against teams with no offense- which went over your over caffeinated head- is that Pulaski didn't exactly play murderers row. And they never played above their class.

FWIW no one has said anything about Pulaski beating HHS. In fact all that was said was someone ranked them preseason #2 BEHIND HHS and someone else had to inject a 6A team (that played them 3 years ago) into the discussion.

 

Please relax up north, even though I am in NO WAY a Pulaski fan, several of my friends are and they all realize what has happened in 5A with the reclassification this year.

Not to hard to figure out when you go back and look at your many posts about how you HOPE Highlands can do this next year or do that. Apparently you have a lot of doubts, so you are either in or you are out. All I was trying to say.

Congrats on returning half of your defense that has yet to win a big game (unless you consider beating the East's Boise State (Johnson central) a big win). Cov. Cath has surrendered quite a few points over the past two years to offenses with a pulse. Pulaski next year will be an absolute monster on O. Sorry, but Cov. Cath has given us little reason to believe they are a legit contender these past two seasons. Their wins are again hapless NKY teams (With Dixie in '14 and Beechwood in '13 as exceptions) and their losses include bludgeonings by Highlands and Moeller as well as deplorable losses in '14 to Ryle and Class A Beechwood.

 

Pulaski returns more on both sides of the ball off a team that has won more, has better high end players, and has momentum on their side right now. For the time being, Cov. Cath. is not on Pulaski's level.
