Congrats on returning half of your defense that has yet to win a big game (unless you consider beating the East's Boise State (Johnson central) a big win). Cov. Cath has surrendered quite a few points over the past two years to offenses with a pulse. Pulaski next year will be an absolute monster on O. Sorry, but Cov. Cath has given us little reason to believe they are a legit contender these past two seasons. Their wins are again hapless NKY teams (With Dixie in '14 and Beechwood in '13 as exceptions) and their losses include bludgeonings by Highlands and Moeller as well as deplorable losses in '14 to Ryle and Class A Beechwood.

 

Pulaski returns more on both sides of the ball off a team that has won more, has better high end players, and has momentum on their side right now. For the time being, Cov. Cath. is not on Pulaski's level.

I don't know why you all keep talking like Pulaski is so good? They Cooper last year who wasn't that good. CovCath would beat Pulaski by 30.

Last year Pulaski County had 56 kids on their roster 15 of them where Freshman. I just don't see them being able to compete with Highlands or CovCath who usually have around 90 kids on their rosters.

I am with you Mex. A one-man-band, that won their 7th title in 8 years and have played in the last 8 title games. A one-man-band that played no defense, but did go 13-2 and lost to 2 teams that would have defeated anyone in Kentucky last year outside of maybe Trinity. This is all rather humorous to me.

I've never really understood why some people believe their candle burns brighter by trying to blow another's out. Did I miss something? Did someone on here project that Cov Cath would win state in 5A?

 

I can see, however, how one could get a sense of self importance feasting on 0-10 2A Somerset, 1-10 4A Russell Co, 3-7 Lincoln Co and 2-8 South Laurel. Talk about hapless teams with lack of a pulse.

My entire point was that you seem to know way more about what the 2015 CovCath team has to offer than a casual fan from your part of the state normally would. You're proclaiming putting 40 points on them not even knowing who they have coming back, nor not even knowing who they having coming up the pike. I don't pretend to have a clue to know anything about Pulaski County because it all fairness I know nothing about them so I don't make statements like they have "better high end players".

Highlands gave up 41, 38, 49, 34, 36, & 42 last year. They were atrocious last year on Defense...without Hodge they do not win the state title...in fact, they don't play for it even.

Or our upturned nose at Collins in 2012, or our upturned nose at Obor in 2014, or our upturned nose at any other opponent we beat in the 7 out of 8 straight trips to the finals. Not sure what any of that has to do with our domination over the past 8 years. Defense has never been a big deal to HHS, Dale even made jokes about it during his induction into the NKY HOF. He put his best people on offense, nothing wrong with that. Obviously. Bottom line is winning, rather it's with offense, with defense, with one player the focus, or whether it's a team with a ton of weapons.
