Boyle County 48 Lincoln County 46 (12th Region Championship)

Featured Replies

These kids are great friends and you've gotta love the rivalry. Check out what Lincoln Point Guard Timmy Taylor posted on Twitter moments ago after a devastating loss. "@young_uno1: Our region will be represented great at the sweet 16, the rivalry between us has been great now y'all show out at state. #12thregion " great class by both schools. Tyler went right over to Conway and Taylor right after the game to help the with the grieving.

I question the no call on the drive, looks like that kid puts a hand on the kid as he leaves the floor for the lay up. Gotta protect the shooter.

It was nice to see Hagan Tyler go over and speak with the LC players after the game.

He is a great kid. I'm sad to see him graduate because he has been so much fun to watch over the years.

Stats from the game.

Is it a foul? Yeah, looked like it to me. With 1 second left in a tie game for a trip to Rupp that far from your basket? I wish they'd have swallowed the whistle. With that said, overall I think Lincoln got a more favorable whistle in the 2nd half than Boyle. I just hated to see such a great game end like that. Not necessarily because it was on a whistle but I just like to see games like that end mainly because someone made a good play instead of ending because someone made a bad one.

A couple other things others mentioned...

The video Wireman posted (with my head in the lower left corner) doesn't do justice to the noise in that building. I'm not sure I've been in a high gym that was louder than Lincoln County tonight. Specifically when Lincoln made a run in the 4th and during those free throws.

Also, the segment of the game (4th quarter I believe) where Hagen Tyler carried Boyle and Jacob Conway carried Lincoln was absolutely awesome to watch. Two great players making plays for their team when they needed it. The crowd on both sides going nuts.

Overall, the atmosphere for this game and the effort by both teams was absolutely incredible. I had quite a few choices for where to go tonight and I'm really glad I ended up seeing this one.

It still hasn't sunk in all of the way yet. Probably will next week when they hit the floor for warmups. So much to say about this game, this moment and this feeling. Just super super happy for the boys and Coach Adams. They've worked hard for this and they never stopped believing. I can't wait for next week but for tonight I am going to enjoy this win. I'll be back tomorrow morning to talk about this awesome game, the awesome atmosphere and what went down tonight. Wow. What a ride.

Man, you're my guy and I'm so tickled for you. I know how much this means to you and this win makes me happy, happy, happy. Pretty geeked for you brother.

I can't state enough...this was perhaps the greatest (definitely the loudest) high school atmosphere I've seen since I've been covering high school basketball. There were a couple of times when it was so loud that it was just overwhelming. That doesn't translate to the videos but you could feel your insides vibrating at certain times tonight.

Gotta make the call regardless of time. I am sure if you are an LC fan it is one you'd question.

I nudged my brother after the Lincoln kid committed the foul at .01 and reminded him of the irony here. Boyle lost a game to Whitley Co back in December under similar circumstances, except the 13th region ref crew had to put a tenth back on the clock before the free throws. Remember that?

Like PP92, it hasnt really sunk in yet. As you guys may or may not know, I am the filmer for the Boyle County Rebels. It was a dream come true tonight to win Regions and Go to Rupp. I have wanted to win a State Championship in Football but sadly that he did not come true so this is 10 times better than I would have ever expected. I have wanted to film at Rupp because I accepted a Job to Film Football up there starting this Summer. So its like unbelievable that I get a chance to fulfill my dreams with my friends and Film Both at Commonwealth and Rupp in my life.

Also, I wanted to say something about Danville, Pulaski County, Wayne County and Lincoln County. All 4 are good or great teams. Some better than others but still. I think all 4 will have awesome futures. I cant say enough about how Great of Players that Timmy Taylor, Jacob Conway, Peyton Woods, Corey Stearns, Trey Blevins, Sean Ross, Riley Hall, Sylvester , Cody Woolridge and Spencer McKinney are. All 10 of those guys are just unbelievable players and are passionate.

I wanted to Thank all of you guys that came out to support Boyle/Lincoln or any of the others game this week. You guys and the Fan bases are just awesome as well.

Anyone happen to know how many points Conway finished with?

What a game. What a ride!!!!!! The atmosphere in that gym tonight was electric . I have never heard a gym that loud . what a way for a great rivalry the last 4 years between these 2 teams come to an end. watching Hagen ( and J Bell ) and Jacob Conway put their teams on their back at the end of the game was fun to watch. Hagen wasn't going to be denied tonight. I still remember when he was little growing up we would always shoot ball on his Lil tyke basketball goal and do best out of 10 for hours . Even then he had the drive and dedication to become the player he is now . We won region my senior year for the first time in school history and now he wins it his senior year. And to be honest, watching him win it was just as special if not more . These boys are never going to forget this moment and BIG REBEL NATION is going to invade Rupp Arena next week and support these boys 100%
