Boyle County 48 Lincoln County 46 (12th Region Championship)

I just caught this...they didn't actually name Hagen MVP did they? It sounds like they just named an all-tournament team and happened to announce him last. I want to make sure I get that correct.

I didn't hear them say anything about MVP. I completely forgot about them naming someone MVP in the first place, but I didn't hear anything about it...like you said they just named him last.

I hope that by seeing players like Timmy Taylor and Conway crying their eyes out after the game, that parent from opposing teams realize that these are just kids. They want to win and will do anything to do so. I've heard plenty of fans from schools that I won't mention, yelling at Taylor as if he was an adult. Sad really. Sometimes us adults get so intertwined with the game that we feel like we're in the game. Both teams have GREAT kids, and that is why I was so happy to see that one of the two were going to Rupp. Represent the 45th BoCo!

I would agree, They are kid and it is really sad that some Parents would act that way. My niece was the starting point guard for Lincoln the last two years and I have got to talk to some of the Lincoln on the Boys team why at her games. Lincoln has some of the best kids playing on the team and they are led by a class act in Coach Jackson. Its sad that some people have to act the way they do. I did notice one thing after the game. Tyler's Grandfather went over and hugged a couple of the Lincoln player and Coach Adams went over and talked to the player of Lincoln and their coaches. Now to me that is a class act and just tell me how much respect that each team has for the other.

Pulaski County: Treyvon Sylvester

Saw that, too. I love the passion the 45th district in general has. Each team hates each other on the court, and each fan base hates the others during the game...but when we see a kids career end it's heartbreaking and everyone gets brought back down to earth to see that these kids are hurt. Loved the compassion from both teams, just a overall well representation of the 45th district, and 12th region. I think everyone can cheer for the Rebels in Rupp. Always good seeing a 45th district team in Rupp! Go Rebs!

Hagen's grandfather was hugging Timmy and Jacob after the game. Hagen's family went everywhere with us last AAU season and you can't help but get close with kids when you're around them all the time and they're good kids.

I'm glad this thread has become all about the sportsmanship shown between rivals and the mutual respect between the two fan bases. Love to see so much 12th region pride.

Okay.....Last night's game was truly an awesome game and everything I expected and hoped that game would be. Jeremiah and Hagen carried the team offensively and defensively everyone did what they needed to do to get the win. All the stars showed up for both teams. Jeremiah had 12 points and 8 rebounds in the first half while Hagen was hounded all over the floor and only given clean looks at the basket from 35 feet away. In the second half, Jacob Conway and Timmy Taylor did everything possible to keep Lincoln in the game and the basket and foul on the Taylor drive to tie the score at 46 was everything you want to see at this stage of the game. Hagen Tyler had 15 huge second half points and his two free throws with 1.0 on the clock capped a story book ending to a spectacular game and is moment he and his teammates will never forget.

This season we have watched Hagen and Jeremiah come up huge for us over and over again. Both of them have carried this team on their backs and hit huge shot after huge shot. So many memories to take away from this season and I couldn't be happier for the both of them. They both come from great families and they are both great kids and they both deserve all of the attention and love that they are getting right now.

Another story of this game is that Colton Elkins got into foul trouble and sat out about 2 and a half quarters and Boyle played small ball for a large part of the game. Considering Elkins has been a HUGE part of Boyle's success this season for the Rebels to pull out the victory. The defensive play of Keagan Hinkle, Chapman Bean and Josiah Robbins cannot be forgotten when looking at how the Rebels pulled out this victory. This was a true team victory in every facet of the word team as everyone did what was needed. Zach Leigh didn't play much but he got a huge rebound or two when in the game and helped maintain the stability of the team as well.

I COULD NOT BE MORE PROUD OF THESE BOYS!!!!

It has been a treat to watch Timmy Taylor and Jacob Conway play these past 4 years. My oldest son knows them both pretty well and has played with them multiple times over the summer when a ton of local area players get together to play basketball. My oldest son has been giving Timmy high praise since his freshman year and I have always called Timmy "The Maestro" when describing how he orchestrates everything on the court. I love everything about Timmy's game. I love his swag his bravado, his fearlessness, the dog in him....I love it all. I felt really bad for him last night as well as for Conway as we watched their high school careers come to a close. Both will be successful at the next level and I wish them nothing but the best of luck going forward. Despite last night's ending for both of them they have nothing to hang their heads about as they will forever be remembered at Lincoln County as two of the best to ever play there and that is no easy feat. Congratulations on fine careers fellas and good luck going forward.

I also want to say congratulations to Coach Adams and his staff. I couldn't be happier for Coach Adams and that whole staff. I've been fortunate to have been around the program since the day Coach Adams arrived at Boyle County and I know how much this moment means to all of them. As a parent who has had two kids play for Coach Adams I couldn't ask for a better coach for them to play for. I truly love Coach Adams and his staff, especially my road dog, Darryl Adams and I look forward to next week and seeing the Rebels take the court in Rupp.

As a parent of a player who will have a chance to take warmups on the floor at Rupp it is really a cool feeling. My kid won't see the floor during the game but knowing how much this moment means to him is a special feeling. Before the season started all my kid wanted to do was be able to dress varsity so he could be a part of the team when they go to Rupp. When I say the kid stressed about it I mean he stressed about it so for me being able to see a dream come true for him I couldn't be happier knowing he accomplished a dream through his hard work and determination to prove to the coaches that he was worthy of a spot on the varsity team. He will never forget the lessons he has learned this year and that hard work allows you to achieve your dreams. There are no words for the emotions I have had the past 24 hours and counting.

Wow......LET'S GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great story and observations! You articulated well the emotions of having a son to be on the court at Rupp in an official capacity: A member of a champion regional team, about to compete in the Kentucky sweet 16. (I don't need to relate how tough the 12 is) Folks seem to discount the role players, non-starters and bench warmers on the teams. A coach nows the importance of these kids as practice players and that their effort is sometimes more than the stars on the teams. CONGRATULATIONS!

Does Boyle County know who their first opponent will be in the State Tournament? When will the game be played?

Congrats to Boyle county. I think they will beat Catholic. Love the Elkins kid and those guards are as good as anyone.
