Boyle County 63 Wayne County 56 (12th Region Semifinals)

Great! Had to miss the game tonight as I am in Nashville working, but will be at tomorrow's game!

Boyle is "real deal" when they come focused as a team. Boyle will be in Rupp next week if they come ready like tonight's game!

Great job Boyle. I'm pulling for the fighting PP92s.:thumb:

I think it's a big deal when you beat a team that is accustomed to winning a lot, especially when they are really talented. Wayne is both of those things.

Great win for Boyle & best of luck in the title game. :thumb:

I haven't had a chance to watch Wayne County play much but man they are fun to watch. I love the way they play. It seems like that would be a fun system to play in.

Agree. They have been my favorite team to watch over the last two years. I was disappointed to see them lose because I was really hoping to get to watch them again at Rupp.

Unfortunately for them, the shots didn't fall in the 4th quarter. I think the biggest play of the game was when Wayne had the ball down 2 inbounding from under their own basket (somewhere around 1-2 minutes left). They got it quickly to Stearns under the basket and he got fouled on his the layup. He couldn't quite get the layup to fall and them missed both free throws. After that Boyle took care of the ball and hit their free throws to ice the game. Those were the only two free throws I remember Wayne shooting.

With the way they play I'd imagine they don't shoot a lot of free throws on most nights. I can see opposing teams normally shooting more free throws than them.

According to the KHSAA scoreboard they shoot around 18 a game. They shot in the high teens in both of the other games I watched them play as well.

I think they usually get to the basket a little bit more, but Elkins prevented them from trying to attack as much.

He does have that effect on teams sometimes. :D
