Fun UK vs. UL Fact of the Day

Featured Replies

I feel like the day is a little slow, so I thought I'd share something a buddy just text me:

There are more UK players on the Phoenix Suns than there are UL players in the whole NBA :sssh:

Very interesting indeed .. I believe Gorgui Dieng and Russ Smith are the only UofL players currently in the NBA, while there are approximately 18 players who donned the UK jersey, going all the way back to the Pitino era (Nazr Mohammed) and the Tubby era (Tayshaun Prince, Chuck Hayes, Jodie Meeks, Rajon Rondo). There's even one from the Dark Ages..aka Billy Clyde era (Patrick Patterson).

No wonder Pitino looks about 94 years old these days ....

UL has been to the F4 and Elite 8 recently, correct?

Garcia still in Houston?

He was waived a couple months ago.

That would be a different thread. :thumb:

Let me ask this question. How big of a list would Cal have if High school kids could go into the draft instead of wasting time at the college level?

Much smaller. But that's the way it is. Calipari figured out first and better than anyone how to turn the NBA's eligibility rules into something he can package and sell to players during recruitment. It's clearly a good pitch.

I agree. I am not saying anything negative.

Just asked a question.

Bledsoe

Lamb

Goodwin

Young

Jones

Knight

Evans

Joe Dorsey

Shawne Williams

To name a few, there are a few others that went after one year that probably wouldn't have been drafted out of high school.

How many kids came like Bledsoe came and no one expected them to go pro after one season?

And Teague.

Knight, Young, Jones and likely Teague would have gone out of high school if given the chance...

They would all go if given the chance, but you actually think any of those beside maybe Knight would have been drafted in the first round coming out of high school?

Every kid ranked in the top 50 thinks they are a sure fire NBA superstar to be, reality is much different.
