FACT OF THE CENTURY that almost everyone knows, Cat's basketball program one of the most penalized programs in NCAA history and the Cards one of the least.

If I am not mistaken, When Crum arrived and until 1989 every FOUR year player had been to a final four. He had a tremendous run through that period of time.

Close but there was a 5 year span between 75 to 80 without a final four inbetween.

As entire body of work, yes UK is clearly the better program. But lets take a look at recent history, since 1980. Over the last 35 years here is the comparison NCAA Tourney Appearaces- UK=30 UL=28 Final Fours UK=8 UL=7 NCAA Championships UK=3 UL=3 I'd still say UK is still the better program over that time period, as they have consistently been a high seed in the dance. Louisville isn't as bad as many UK fans would like to think.
