Jesse James Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Given the events of the last year what are the goals of ISIS? I mean they are killing people for what exactly? The follow the Koran to a tee so why are they doing this? Some scream that Islam is a religion of peace, but I cant tell by what I have read of it.
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think their goal is pretty plainly to make the world Islamic, and kill those who defy them.
theguru Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Take over the world, nothing else makes sense.
UKMustangFan Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think their goal is simple. To kill as many people as they possibly can before they're eradicated from the face of the Earth. They're pure evil. There's no sense in trying to understand why they do what they do IMO.
Ari Gold Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Trying to make sense of what they do will make your head spin until it falls off. These folks want the world in its entirety to become Islamic followers and they will extinguish all that stands in its way.
BigVMan23 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Do as much harm and spreading as much fear as they possibly can, believing (I take it) that all the horrendous actions they do are justified, and if they die during the course of their actions they will be rewarded. I believe, to them there is only "the fight", justified in their minds by their religious teachings, and that by simply engaging in "the fight" they are doing Allah's work. For them there doesn't need to be an end, and to be honest I think most of them know the world as a whole will never convert to their way anyway, so they are happy in their killing and horror. JMO on the whole matter, and I could be totally wrong.
HoopsLady Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 My understanding is that ISIS and the Taliban are bitter rivals and that it would not take much to promote open warfare between the two groups. I hope we have learned from the Iraq experience to facilitate the conflict between our enemies instead of killing one so the other can dominate!
SportsGuy41017 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 First, All religions are peaceful. It's just what some people misuse and misinterpret that causes issues. Muslins don't even know what the goal is for ISIS, as it's an ideology like no other. The ideology is what makes this a difficult battle, you are not fighting a country, you are fighting an ideology of a few people, and YES, out of almost 2 billion people, their numbers are few, but deadly. ISIS has even killed other Muslins that stand in their way. But like Guru mentioned, one thing they want is for the entire world to think like them, heck they won't even get the huge majority of Muslims to think like them. As far as the idea of isolationism, that won't work either. We can close off all of our borders and not do anything outside of the USA and they would still target us, just for existing.

I see us somehow stirring the pot between ISIS and the Taliban, but how can we support one or the other? We can't support one like we did with the Iran/Iraq war and let them kill each other off.

Don't support either. Kill one, implicate the other!
nkypete Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Do not...do not...do not...get in bed with Al-Qaeda just to get rid of ISIS. We have a very short memory if we do that. It is about a struggle for power...even within the Islamic world.

halfback20 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Do they just want a job? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/02/17/state-department-spokeswoman-floats-jobs-as-answer-to-isis/
LIPTON BASH Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 ISIS wants one thing and one thing only. They have stated it over and over. A global Calphaite . Anyone who doesn't realize that has their head in the sand.
