Let Jordan , Egypt and Libya deal with it. NOT OUR FIGHT! No more foreign interventionism please!

Great Point, Muslim Extremism should be handled by Muslim countries and leaders. But when they handle it we need to step back and understand that it will not be pretty. The US doesn't need to intervene when/if these countries start doing what needs to be done.

US needs to take most of the military budget being used in the ME and what ever aid is being sent to basically bribe those countries to handle this stuff in house.

When I first saw this thread title I swore that I thought it said "ISIS - What are the goats?"

ISIS wants one thing and one thing only. They have stated it over and over. A global Calphaite . Anyone who doesn't realize that has their head in the sand.

And maybe not connected to the rest of your body.

That might be a credible thread too. :thumb:

Egypt can barely deal with itself and Libya is one wrong turn away from not even being a country anymore. Things are a mess and the only real stable places right now aren't hugely helpful. ISIS is starting to change things as the descendants of King Saud are as terrified of a marching Caliphate as anyone. The instability works in their favor but their own stupidity is beginning to do them in.

Jordan, which you mentioned, was pretty passive until ISIS decided to behead a couple captured pilots. Nearly the entirety of Jordan is now set against them. I do believe that as time goes by, brutality sows the seeds of its own undoing. They'll need all sorts of things to function and if they make it an unlivable nightmare to live in the Levant, they'll find themselves on the short end of economics in time.

For now, decreasing their ability to make money is a great start... which involves cutting off their ability to produce and sell oil. Are we prepared to do that?

What are the goats?"

The terrorists' wives.

...Too much?

That's the party line. But this is a group of mercenaries backed by some entity. What that entity wants is the real question.

Caliphate? Probably not. Was ISIS assembled to finish the job in Syria - but got out of control? Global religion war?

This group did not exist before late 2013. It came out of nowhere. Simple air power can probably quash the mercinaries fairly easily. The Jordanians and Egyptians know this. And these two countries may the Middle Easts last hope.

They comment about Syria may be new to some. But lets look at a Washington Institute article from September of 2013. One of the very first about ISIS.

Al-Qaeda in Syria: A Closer Look at ISIS (Part I) - The Washington Institute for Near East Policy

In August (2013), the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) bolstered its growing reputation as a key player in the jihad against the Syrian regime, participating in the takeover of Minakh air base in Aleppo governorate, the offensive in the regime heartland of Latakia, and other operations.

Whoever is backing them wants the same thing. All evidence points to most global terror efforts leading and preaching the same thing. First the Middle East then they expand to Europe. They want pre Crusades territory.

“When you kill, systematically kill Jews and kill Christians and say that’s what you’re doing, it’s not random. It’s purposeful. And it seems to me a lot of the country is still in a state of denial about it.” – Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld

Do you agree we should stoke the fire between ISIS and Al-Qaeda?

I don't know. I look at those organizations as different sides of the same coin.

Read the above article. You will see the differences.
