February 20, 201511 yr Shall I post a few things from the Bible? I'll start you out, start at Exodus 21:1 and read a bit The Koran is the word of God - straight from the source - Allah - according to Islam - all of Islam. The Bible is not. The Bible is written by men. It is used by Evangelicals in literal manner often. But not so much by the Catholic church. Equivocating the two and how they are viewed by their respective religion is not valid in any manner.
February 20, 201511 yr The Bible is not. The Bible is written by men. It is used by Evangelicals in literal manner often. But not so much by the Catholic church. Since when? Most Catholic's actually say that the Bible is God's inspired words, or that God wrote the Bible through men. Is the Bible the word of God and to be followed? Or is the Bible the work of men and null and void?
February 20, 201511 yr What ISIS Really Wants - The Atlantic Read that. The people in this thread saying they are a religion of peace........
February 20, 201511 yr But, at the end of the day, we will have to fight groups like ISIS! No question about it. It does not matter if we stay out of everything outside of our borders, if we do that, they will come after us. It's best to start planning how to crush them as soon as possible and go after them, full force, no holding back, no excuse that other countries are not involved as well, and no excuse that it will cost to much. I strongly feel that when this fight begins, that many Muslins will end up seeing that we mean business and that we will not stop until the enemy is defeated, many will join the fight on our side.

The key point is that the Koran is the accepted as the direct word of Allah in all of Islam.

Whereas the Koran has no change as seen the Bible.
February 20, 201511 yr Catholics get their bible teachings at mass with interpretation by the leaders that focus on the 4 apostle gospels in rotating order each year. The key point is that the Koran is the accepted as the direct word of Allah in all of Islam. And so is the Bible the direct work of God. An overwhelming amount of people believe it's one or the other that I mentioned in the post you quoted. A few people recently told me one or the other, none told me anything differently, including my spiritual director, a very popular and very well respected OFM. Even a recent Catholic commercial spot says in it "Guided by the Holy Spirit, we compiled the Bible".
February 20, 201511 yr After the teachings, crucification and resurrection of Jesus there was a major change from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Whereas the Koran has no change as seen the Bible. So we can throw out everything from the OT then?
February 20, 201511 yr So we can throw out everything from the OT then? Throw out everything , no, but the old laws are not followed.
March 3, 201511 yr Now, I have heard people in the past week who are Muslim say exactly what this article says, that the article in the Atlantic, as well as some talk show hosts and others, are giving ISIS what they want. They want people, Muslim or not, to thin they are the only legitimate voice of Islam, they are giving ISIS free advertisement, and ISIS is hoping more people will hear this and will change their minds and see ISIS as the only voice to listen to concerning Islam. I am not saying to take the entire article and agree, but it does make some great points about what I mentioned above. What The Atlantic Gets Dangerously Wrong About ISIS And Islam | ThinkProgress
March 3, 201511 yr The irony to me is that the state that is the MOST oppressive towards Muslims is China. However, these fruitcakes find that the free world offers more headlines and easier access than the communists, so they vent their frustrations on us. Will China Have a Muslim Problem?
