February 10, 201511 yr Heard Yeezy was racist so I guess if someone bases.....I only like green faces.... -Kanye West "Who Gon Stop Me" Jay-Z/Kanye West Watch The Throne Brilliant song, amazing delivery, and before I forget....oh so original. If this is supposed to prove anything to me, it doesn't. It appears that he's separating himself from the black race in this tune to paint that he's better, but if he thinks he's that much better than black, how much better than white do you suppose he thinks he is? Putting down his own race doesn't convince me that he wouldn't put down another. Sure, at the end of the day he's all about Kanye. You can say anything you want. I can say anything I want. Kanye can say anything that he wants. From where I stand he and his tunes are arrogant, ignorant, hateful, full of attitude, generic, annoying, and unoriginal, and speaks volumes of how talentless and ignorant he is. He told you that he was the :poop: and you bought into it. Some hip hop can move me and hit the right vibe...this does not. To each their own, but a steady diet of this would drive me nuts. In a world full of so much music, this would fall into the category of a severe waste of my time. Since hip hop's inception there has been only a small percentage that has separated itself from being the same old same old. Sure, it's slowly evolved in 30 some odd years, but not enough to point out very many original artists. The nature of the genre itself doesn't even lend itself to stretch its wings very far. It was an interesting novelty when it began, but for it to take over and outshine R & B was overkill beyond description. Because of it, there's been 30 years of possible creative decent music highlighting good lyrics, melody, and vocal talents shot to hell all for this redundant illiterate nonsense. Sure, there's been some other good stuff that's snuck through over the years, but sadly hip hop has created a musical desert where generation after generation lacks any push to move forward from the same same same. Sure hip hop is not all black, but it does nothing to help the black culture move forward either creatively, or socially. The messages more than not keep pushing the idea to keep whining, keep braggin', keep promoting a dead end existence unless you stand up to the mic to make money by whining, braggin', and promoting a dead end existence. Unimaginative white kids have now for years bought into the same same sameness of hip hop because it's a numbing of the mind that lacks any effort to see beyond it. Some white kids now think it's cool to jump on board to keep whining, keep braggin', and keep promoting a dead end existence. In my mind it's ultimately just promoted a cultural and artistic dead end for all races. Thankfully there is actually a bit more variety out there coming from an original artistic place that's available for people to seek out who don't want to just settle for the same beat, same redundant unimaginative rhyme format, and same whining bragging message.

February 11, 201511 yr Author FWIW, I am no fan of Kanye's character. I listen to some of his music, but am really turned away by what he stands for. But one thing I do respect: His ability to create publicity. I think Kanye does this type of stuff to create Buzz - to create the very discussion we are having right now.

All I was really saying is that Kanye is not a racist like you think he is. He thinks he is better than everyone alive. He named himself Yeezus. Yeezus. :idunno: I really don't care if people think he is a crappy artist. I'm not going to argue about that. Kanye doesn't make my list of top 5 rappers ever. Maybe not even top 10. Show me a rapper who doesn't think he is the greatest ever and I'll show you a rapper that sucks. Hip hop/rap has sucked for over a decade now. NaS stated Hip hop is dead in 2006. Everybody is different though. Hip hop/rap is disappointing these days but all I listen to these days is hip hop and R&B. All other genres of music are like scratching nails on the chalkboard to me so to each his own. Your take on white kids and hip hop is interesting though.

February 11, 201511 yr Surprisingly I found the show to be mostly entertaining with its high points and disturbing embarrassing lows. After seeing some real nice performances, it's not fair that Kanye's despicable low would continue to stick out in my mind this morning when his "again" disrespectful antics deserve only to be immediately disregarded. I would have him banned from ever appearing again on the Grammy's and as much as I have respect of Paul McCartney, I can't even imagine why he'd allow his legacy to be paired with, and be associated with such a jack wad. I enjoyed the show being kicked off by AC/DC and thought that it was an exciting energizing way to begin. Sure, Brian Johnson's voice is painful in too many ways to count but have to give him credit for pulling it off, but all and all in the world of pop forgettables, it was a good way to give a nod to real straightforward rock n' roll to remind what it means to watch a performance that gives you something to bite into. While watching Madonna I couldn't help but think that I was seeing her do a parody of herself and had to believe that the writers of SNL were immediately jotting down ideas to create a soon to be seen parody of their own. Although Ed Sheeran typically bores me to tears I did enjoy immensely Jeff Lynne taking over the spotlight and showing the crowd how real timeless music is done and was happy to see that he didn't miss a beat, and is as fantastic as he ever was. Got a kick out of seeing Paul McCartney jump up and sing along like a teenaged fan and felt as if I could join him in his excitement. I'm not a Taylor Swifter hater but when she was dancing to "Mr. Blue Sky" I couldn't help but think that it's the first time she had ever heard the song and was just moving to steal a little of the spotlight for herself knowing that the camera was on her. It made me cringe a little. Although panned by critics, I thoroughly enjoyed Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga and was amazed at how spot on Tony was at his age in equalling Gaga in a perfect performance. It was one of the few moments of the evening that had me immediately applaud at the close of the song although I was all by myself in my living room. Really enjoyed Hozier and Annie Lennox's performance and especially when Annie broke into "I put a spell on you". She shows no age in her voice and gave it amazing power and had me saying "You go girl, show'em how it's done". Although unfamiliar with the tune, I was highly impressed by Usher's voice on his classy performance and gained a ton of respect for him. I also really dug Pharrell Williams and was glad to see him pick up a Grammy for his "Happy" tune which I thought he was deserving of. He's a real lasting artist that I have a lot of respect for. I was happy for Sam Smith to have such a big night, and also glad to see Beck, although unexpected, deservedly have a big night of his own. I still couldn't help to think that Sam got a lot of mileage out of a tune where he basically lifted the key melody line from Tom Petty, but nonetheless it's still a great song in its own right. There were a few forgettable snoozers from some big names, and odd and sometimes uncomfortabe "socially conscious" moments that I won't bother identifying, but must say that although maybe not exciting enough from the Grammy's, I did enjoy Beck and Chris Martin's performance and really dug their pleasant song. By not giving recognition to some of the performance that didn't personally move me, anyone seeing the show could probably figure who I'm not mentioning. That's not to say that they were terrible, but just not my cup of tea. All in all the show held my attention way more than I ever expected it to, and I'm glad that I decided to take it in. Ed Sheeran bores you!? His music is all amazing. And unlike most of his peers, he actually sings live. And he sounds like his radio and album when he does it. Dude is beyond talented. I didn't realize John Mayer was on stage...weird. Taylor Swift makes me uncomfortable. It's like she knows she is the popular girl in high school and everyone is paying attention so she does all the "right things" and acts like such a sweet proper lady. But when the cameras are off who knows.
February 11, 201511 yr I don't think Kanye is racist at all. I think he's ignorant and pathetic and he would be that way to anyone.
February 12, 201511 yr I think it is funny that people defend Kanye by basically saying "he isn't just a jerk to some people, he is a jerk to everyone"...like that somehow makes him not as bad. What he did to Taylor Swift was horrible and what he did this year was horrible again. He is probably just doing it for the pub...I get that...but I still have no use for him because of it.

Saying it was funny is defending him? Saying he is a jerk to everyone is saying he isn't that bad? What he did this year was a joke. Everyone in the audience laughed. What he said after the show during an interview was what he felt. Can he not say that after the show in an interview? How is it Beck doesn't care and gave a great response to the whole thing and everyone else is all mad? :lol2:
