Grammys 2015

I think you are confusing Kanye's love of himself for hatred of white people. Kanye's problem is he just can't get out of his own way but he's trying. Tho I loathe KK, she is doing remarkable work in calming him down and teaching him to love and trust someone else; something he hasn't had since his mom died.

I thought it was funny that he started up towards the stage but backed off. His mistake was opening his mouth afterwards and insulting the person who won the award and should have had his moment of recognition; even if I don't like Beck and have no idea how he won the award. I don't think that had one thing to do with Beck being white though. It has more to do with his creepy love for Beyonce', IMO. Seriously, doesn't anyone else see that?! This is twice now.

I'm not really saying that it's because Beck was white, but more so that he wasn't black or Beyonce. It may be overreaching of me to paint this particular incident as racist, but I don't think it's a stretch really to say that although not spoken in specific racist terms while acting badly that his underlying motivation still is provoked by a black favoritism slant. Would he jump up so in his dumb disrespectful fashion for a white artist? I seriously doubt it. It's deep in his system and wears it on his sleeve without even having to say so. Hard to believe, but even as stupid as he is maybe he has enough sense not to.

Too many of you have asked me to explain for me to tie together all your quotes, so I'll assume you all know who you are and this post will suffice without it being technically a reply to any specific previous post, but to all of them.

We are talking about the same guy who so tactlessly ranted while he and Mike Myers were on TV during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina giving a plea for support while Kanye went off in classless pedestrian form claiming that George Bush doesn't care about black people, and turning it into a racial issue while Mike Myers stood there embarrassed trying to salvage their statements with a sense of calm, compassion and rationality all the while showing obvious uneasiness to the jackwad that Kanye was being... Right? Same guy...Right???

There was a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE about how the two of them handled the situation, and one of them showed a tremendous classless ignorant racist approach. Do I really need to post the video to help you see who that was?

I've never been a big supporter of Bush, and too was not thrilled by the government's slow response to help those in need, but even in this case found it to be so out of line and classless to use this time to cut him down with his overly black slanted take on the matter. Black folks were not the only people impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

Kanye being married to a white woman does nothing to convince me that his knee jerk black centric agenda isn't first and foremost with him.

Don't mistake my words as saying there's anything wrong with being black as I'm all for a peaceful world where people are judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

This holds true for people of any color, and just as much as there are ignorant white people who lack understanding of this, there too are black people who have sorely missed the meaning of this as well.

Is he for humanity as a whole, or does he take a black first stance? Nothing about him has convinced me that he has an intelligent bone in his body that comes near understanding this, and his stupid behavior has only shown convincingly where his instincts are firmly rooted. I have a hard time seeing how anyone with any sense, white or black can't see that he is racist.

I can say with complete honesty that while I'm a white guy, I in no way shape or form am a "white first" kinda guy, and it's quite obvious to me when someone is, just as it's quite obvious to me when someone is a "black first" kinda guy.

As you all know I'm gay, but with that said I'm not a "gay first" kinda guy as some gays can be who do nothing positive for their own cause by being so. I'm just "a guy" with a variety of things that can define me.

He can pretend all he wants, and even by marrying a white woman, that he's an open minded dude, but he's not fooling me one bit. He's an ignorant racist and I can confidently say that without any hesitancy. No way in hell anyone can convince me otherwise.

I fully understand the black cause for equality and respect, but remember... it goes both ways, and not only white people can be racist.

1. I agreed with him about George Bush and his statement that he made at that time. Does that make me racist?

2. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a black first kind of guy also. Just saying.

3. I get the Kanye hate people have and I think it's funny. IMO you are off on him being racist but that's my opinion just like it is yours that he is racist and that you won't be convinced otherwise. I've never heard that one before.

Yes. He'd have said the exact same thing about a black artist had they won over Beyoncé. He'd have gone in on Drake and he has insulted numerous black artists before. Funny thing though, not many black artists will get nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, etc, etc. That's what the Hip Hop and R&B awards are for.

We can have that conversation too. :thumb:

Worst Grammys I can recall.

So many slow songs and weird acts. If I tune in I want to hear the hits not some weird song you are trying to push now.

I was tuning in and out. Glad I have NBA league pass.

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Why don't you get more worked up about something a musician did at the Grammy's... Seriously man, you need to relax. Me saying it was funny isn't me defending him... I clearly stated that I wouldn't do or say some of the stuff he does, I guess you chose to omit that from your response. I also said that I like his MUSIC, and that I roll my eyes at some of the things he does. I can't change them, so why would I get that worked up about it? Be ticked off all you want, but questioning someones character because of the music they like, really? :lol2:

What Kanye did last night didn't bug me. What bugs me is people who are Hip Hop fans actually think he has talent. He has been a disappointment since his first recrod. I love Hip Hop but to many people give him a pass for garbage material and just want him to be the genius he claims to be. His work is well below where some people want to put him.

Let's be honest Kanye isn't getting up on that stage with anyone who would fight back. He's a poser.

Let's be honest. Who would fight back that would be up for a Grammy for Album of the Year or Artist of the Year?

Kanye has dissed Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, French Montana, Sway, Obama and George Bush for those keeping stats at home.

I'm waiting for him to attack Eminem on a track so once and for all Kanye can be put to rest. Calling out Tupac and Biggie , Really? Call out 50 Cent or The Game now we are talking.

1. There's no doubt that blacks have been treated unfairly in our country's history, and too many to count. There might have even been a certain amount of truth with his take on the Katrina situation, but it wasn't entirely accurate enough for him to blow it up in the fashion that he did to paint the slow response as racially motivated and to turn it into a black cause. All the while he was trying to appear as if he's had enough, and was going to spell it out "like it was", and that he was "so in touch" with the real deal, he painfully showed how "out of touch" he was presenting it the wrong way, wrong time, and the wrong place.

2. MLK was a peaceful intelligent man doing his best in a peaceful manor to push for civil rights respectfully while blacks in our country were suffering grave inequality and disrespect. Certainly the most pressing issue for him during his life was to try to make the world a better place for the black race, but I've no doubt that he had the sense and foresight to know that what he was doing was ultimately for the betterment of all humankind. Some of his more prominent associates back during that time today sadly seem not to have fully understood what he was aiming for, and still show up on the scene with a black centric only slant. Just as much as some white people didn't get MLK's message, neither have they. Kanye is certainly no MLK.

Let's be honest. Who would fight back that would be up for a Grammy for Album of the Year or Artist of the Year?

Also you got me on that. My dream would be like Kid Rock or Toby Keith ( I know not great music) winning an award and Kanye running up and trying to take their trophy. Then you see all 5'7 of Kanye being thrown from the stage.

People still fight over Tupac and Biggie. :lol2: Saying the wrong thing about one of them will get you shot in some neighborhoods.

Kanye is talented but askk em is the greatest battle rapper of all time. He ain't stupid.

Jay-Z signs his checks. Who disses their boss at a weekend long concert? Kanye does.

50 Cent? Poser. I could see Kanye dissing 50 Cent.

Nobody with a brain would call out The Game or T.I. Word up.

I would laugh at that also. :lol2:

1. Kanye doesn't care about all of that. Kanye cares about Kanye. And Kim and North. And attention any way he can get it. Doesn't make him racist.

2. No. Kanye is not MLK. Not what I am saying. I'm saying MLK was a black first kind of guy and I'd argue he is way more black first than Kanye will ever be. You'd likely be surprised at the amount of black people who don't like Kanye because a lot of black people don't accept his 'street cred'.

No way Kanye is racist IMO.

:lol2: The mental image is funny. Not that I want it to happen, but you really did pick a couple of guys who have the potential. :lol2:

I really don't think Kanye is racist. But he is weird, and has a remarkable lack of self-control over his emotions.

I guess I just don't understand his obsession with Beyonce. I love her music (except for that weirdly discordant and out of sync Drunken Love fiasco), I wouldn't put her above all others. The Grammy's are a tough win because it is pretty all-encompassing. I have no idea how the winners are voted upon. That's why there are genre specific awards and award shows. One thing that Kanye can be assured of: Beck won't win at the BET awards, and Beyonce won't win at the CMT's.

Beck was as surprised as anyone, by all accounts. So, who knows why he won? In the end, can't we all just get along?
