Who are top RB's in NKY for 2006/07?

Featured Replies

Brent will be only a Jr. next year. He was starter a LB towards the end of the season last year. Brent has good size, speed and hands. As for RB next season he should see quite a bit of carries and balls thrown his way.

If he is a jr to be then I would have seen him play against HHS 2 seasons ago as a frosh. MJK stated that he had an awesome Frosh season. Just don't remember any backs from that team.

Maybe he played up on the JV team. He was fairly solid last season.

Tommy Bandcamper for Beechwood, will be a very good running back next year. He will only be a jr, he's about 6'3 200lbs or so. And I think he will do a lot of running this year, like most beechwood teams have done in the past.

Come on sandman look closer,I said ben was the #1 back and Vicars was the 2. All I said is he was considered a starter. He was just on the other side of the QB.Yes Kelly got most of the Carries but Vicars still had his share.Heck most of our second string played more than him because our starters were out before Halftime 50% of that year. The year before that year Kelly was the #2 back to Kevin Smith and he played the same roll as Vicars played when he was a sophmore. I am sorry but I consider Kelly a 2 year starter. No disrespect takin it is just my opinion,If you come out when the 1rst team does you are a starter.

A starter to me is 1st string, a platoon player may or may not be "1st string". I think it depends on the particular situation, and if the platooning player is of comprable talent or just giving some one some reps for the future and the #1 a blow. In this particular case, if it makes you feel better to say he will be a three year Starting Varsity Player, then OK. I don't agree, but OK, and that is no disrespect to Mr. Vicars, he's a great running back for the Breds and I wish him all the best this season.

I've known the Bankempers for quite some time. Tommy is a great kid and athlete. He definetly will be another great Beechwood back. He played FB this past season, blocking for Sawyer. However in the JV game against Highlands, he played TB and ran well. He is a quick powerful back who can run up the middle or turn the corner. He however is not 6'3, closer to 6'0and unless he has added weight in the past couple of months closer to 180. That is still very nice size for a HS TB.

You are 100% correct!

Michael Haught from Scott. He has performed impressively with little talent around him and he's done it against a tough division.

Ryan Howard of Leslie.

Rb's from nky...........

I have to put Jordan Kramer up there as one of the top... he is a 2yr starter and looks like he has put on about 15 pounds of muscle since last year. What about the Farris kid at Boone? QB or RB?

I think Kramer is going to have a great year also. He's not real big (dang it Troy, I told you to marry a tall woman, but no, you wouldn't listen to me, then again, I didn't follow that advise myself) but he's very strong for his size and super fast and quick. I think he's going to be very special this year. And has been mentioned on other threads, the defenses are not going to be able to key on him this year like they did last year. Dale's going back to the two back set and the defenses will have to worry about that other back, whether its Urlage, Hurtt, Ball, Marchetti or Conner. Plus they'll be running behind a very veteran line.

I think overall the rb position in 4a nky will be stronger than its been in a while...lots of good backs this year.

Dixie- Moloney

SK- Bishop

Scott- Haught

Ryle- Gray, Murray, Luster (Gray will be the main back but both Luster and Murray will get some carries as well)

Boone- Farris

Holmes- Covington

All six teams have a rb that could potentially win the rushing title

Think of the possibilities there, the different combos he can run. Speed and speed (not to mention the quickness to match), speed and strength, strength and strength, natural ability and great vision. It will be tough to defend against. It'll be a great help in setting up the passing game.

One question, is Koester still in the backfield (short yardage and such) or is strictly D?

He ran the ball in Spring football and looked good. Speaking of stictly D, aren't the Birds deep enough at most positions to keep from playing a lot of kids both ways? A lot of the RBs play LB on D. Would it not make sense to take a couple of them and dedicate them to D, and the others to stictly O? Might have a little gas in the tank at the end of the game, especially against the big schools.

I am 6'0. (and have been for the past 14 years). My eyes look Tommy in the nose. If he isn't 6'3--he is definitely 6'2.9999999999. And that was last fall.

Also--Tommy hasn't been close to 180 since he was a freshman. I would say 200 to 205.

On the same note--I wouldn't spend a lot of time speculating about anyone's weight at Beechwood (unless you see them everyday). There is a "noticeable" increase in size/speed compared to last year.

Although I think the RB's will be strong again, I disagree that they haven't been in the past. Even on some of the lesser teams in NKY 4A over the years, the talent level has always in my opinion, been comparable year in and year out. The Sled Dogs are the ones who decided how good they look. Nothing gets down without some quality hogs in the trenches. There the unsung heros that get it all done and get next to none of the glory. Each team you cited has a great group of hogs. Every team, that has a great running back, has a great line that makes him successful.
