Who are top RB's in NKY for 2006/07?

Featured Replies

I am 6'0. (and have been for the past 14 years). My eyes look Tommy in the nose. If he isn't 6'3--he is definitely 6'2.9999999999. And that was last fall.

Also--Tommy hasn't been close to 180 since he was a freshman. I would say 200 to 205.

On the same note--I wouldn't spend a lot of time speculating about anyone's weight at Beechwood (unless you see them everyday). There is a "noticeable" increase in size/speed compared to last year.

I'll ask Tom Sr. the next time I see him at Turners.

I will have Coach Rash measure him the next time we are at weights/conditioning . . . . . . . .

Although I think the RB's will be strong again, I disagree that they haven't been in the past. Even on some of the lesser teams in NKY 4A over the years, the talent level has always in my opinion, been comparable year in and year out. The Sled Dogs are the ones who decided how good they look. Nothing gets down without some quality hogs in the trenches. There the unsung heros that get it all done and get next to none of the glory. Each team you cited has a great group of hogs. Every team, that has a great running back, has a great line that makes him successful.

I completely agree with you...i was just stating that i feel this years group of rb's all have potential to win the rushing title because like you stated they all return veteran lines whereas in years past there were good rb's but only two or three had the oppurtunity to win it...but so true of the hogs in the trenches being the reason these rb's will be so good...i think they don't receive enough credit sometimes.

Aug 18 2005 Ky Post Prep Football Preview. Beechwood roster: Tom Bankemper 5'10 175 lbs. QB-DB Grade 10. Thats a whale of growth spurt 5 inches and 25lbs in half a year, considering hes a physically mature kid. Take it for what its worth (nothing). Good luck to Tommy and the Beechwood team.

No problem, malachi. I see where you are coming from. The only redeeming feature of my argument is that I see him pretty regularly.

I can shed a little more light on that height/weight--we used it from his freshman year.

We are supposed to get out the scales and the measuring tape tomorrow anyway. I will keep you up to date on the results.

Just a little info.

These list are notoriously wrong. Last year they list one of our players 5'5" and 135. He was 5'8" 155. They listed him the same as his freshman season when he was a senior.

Exactly...the papers very rarely have the correct height/weight for all of the players.

I see Brent Bishop doing big things.

Yeah and they had my son at 6'0" and 225. He was 5'10", 205, so it cuts both ways.

I can relate, Neck. My boy was listed at 6-1 205 and he was 5-10 190.

You cannot blame the papers. Those numbers come straight from the schools.

I don't mean to imply the papers just make it up. They report what they are told. For whatever the reason, some teams inflate numbers, some deflate them. I'm not even saying it's a conscious thing. Just that it's not necessarily accurate when you get your stats from the paper or programs necessarily. I deffinetly don't mean to imply their is a conspiracy to misinform if that is what it sounded like.

Exactly my point. The numbers in the papers and programs are generally not to be believed so they should not be cited as authority in discussing players on here. I trust the folks who know the players personally.

I remember my coach telling us whenever we got off the bus to swell up and look big. Although , you can only hold your breath so long you know. It is common to inflate the numbers a little, I believe it to be a psychological advantage. All the kids read the papers and they look for the big fellas.

I can confirm though the Kramer kid and his increased size....it was much needed as the end around may be the oldest play in HHS playbook. Jordan will need to run inside the tackles this year.

Here is the verdict:
