What is the reason that a school could have a successful middle school program and not carry over to the high school being successful?

Plenty of schools have one. Frankly I've never heard of anything their ms has done either.

 

Who do they play ? Never seen them in ms playoffs. What makes you say they are strong ? Just curious

You haven't seen a lot of schools in the Middle School Playoffs. WC plays Scott Co., Clark Co., Franklin Co., and some Lexington middle schools. I know this year they won their "conference". They are very competitive nearly every year.

 

Same with Mercer Co. I know in a span from 2007-2014 the middle school team was the conference champ 4 or 5 of those eight years. They went undefeated in 2007.

 

I don't know what the answer is. I can't figure it out myself.

Last time I checked middle school football was not in the paper on Saturday morning either!

I couldn't tell you one kid that lives in Woodford Co. & plays football for one of the 5 FCPS schools (Station, Henry Clay, Lafayette, Dunbar or Creek)

 

I can't say the same for the privates in the city, but they dont have attendance areas that are defined.

 

That being said, I am not @ the county line checking license & registration either.

 

FCPS has to have verification; power bill, water bill, etc to enroll a kid into a school. For athletics they have to verify that as well on an address verification form. If there is any question, they send out pupil personnel to research the residence where the student lives & reports back whether the residence is vacated, lived in, etc... They also send a certified letter to the current address, if it isn't signed for, then they will contact the parents & move to have the student placed back where they should be attending.

I follow ms pretty close.

 

Clark and Scott won the conf this past year. Both made a pretty good run in the kymsfa playoffs.

 

Didn't mean to come off like a jerk but it just sounded from the post like they are like the bowling greens, pulaskis, Corbins, Johnsons of ms football. That's not the case.

Clark beat Franklin co in the 7 th grade championship 28-6. Woodford defeated Scott co. 14-0 in 8th grade championship game of the conference. Woodford has never played in the middle school state tournament.

Get them in then. The experience that class could have gotten last year was invaluable.

It is definitely about blocking and tackling, but a matured young man will dominate those aspects in middle school over boys who have not yet matured. This is why you see multiple middle school stars fizzle out when they get to high school and others catch up to them physically and they are no longer taller, bigger and faster. Middle school team success is not a good measuring stick for projected high school success due to the maturity aspect.
